virtually everyone i know is to put it as nicely as i can growingly skeptical of athletic dept leadership.

it is seemingly obv that the search was not comprehensive. jmac needs to work out. if he doesn't, ap should not be given the opp to hire his replacement.

i haven't the foggiest idea whether this is going to work out but am looking forward to supporting it to the extent i am able as always.

Time will tell with the hire. If you are staying in house I would have picked Osborn or AD. To not even consider a national hire seems strange

If you really think that then you really are out of the loop. But regardless- I was in favor of an actual nationwide search and not hiring a NW person.

Is there anyone out there that believes AP is the right person for the athletic director job? I'm a long way away from everything but from here it seems like he just wants to be everyone's buddy and cant handle a difficult decision/talk - again, maybe Im just too far separated from everything.

Only one was...the others were already handled. If the conversations had gone past AP...the last one might have been able to be worked out over time.

I was told a couple.......but one huge one was the deal killer. Had it happened he would probably be back.

Would love to know more! Specifically, if this was actually something huge or if it was something that will be insignificant in hindsight and the director just tried to man up and play hardball.

It was significant...but IMO and from what I've heard from others...something that needs to happen.

How is it possible that NW didn't put Mel at the forefront of these negotiations for our next HC? I realize he has his own personal battle going on with a health issue, but seems he still enjoys being involved with NW and friends, and he certainly knows these are pretty crucial times for putting this Bearcat football program back together. AP would have best served NW interests sitting in the back of the room taking notes.
