I cannot see us going FCS we do not have the financial backings not even close. Now the campaigning they're doing is trying to get them to a point where they can be more financially solvent with a lot of Tulsa sports radio being accessed games on in Tulsa markets on the radio. They are really putting some effort into making Athletics the front door of the University

pffft whatever helps you justify it. read the post i made above this one. i was in the crowd on this one... it wasnt the f*cking players initially. ofcourse, there were pockets here and there of players face to face but a majority of the players that were involved were specifically targetting the groups of parents coming onto the field.
the locals you talk about number about 6 or 7...most of them are transfers. one of them that landed there is on his 4th school in 3 years. we have transfers too. were not lilly white but you know what OUR team doesnt do after a win? ill give you a guess...

Hey you're probably right. When you start a rebuild from where we were you're going to have some questionable characters it's what he does in the next two to three seasons that matters for the long-term nature of the program. But you got to remember this is only year three quality players take time to develop from locals. But they're getting there it's a lot more than six or seven. It's better than it was last year and it'll probably be better next year.

But I seriously doubt if we keep the coach over next year there's no way some FCS program doesn't come along and drop a serious bag on him

Cuz the last time we joined the MIAA we got one of those real special schedules that just absolutely ripped us apart and that wasn't even the worst one we had since.

we came in with a 14 team league. Then they proceeded to give us 5 ranked out of our first 6. The other three teams that came in played each other first then eased into the conf schedule. we strted 0-6 upset UCM and won the three we played at the end of the other newbies. Then they let Truman and SW Baptist, and Lincoln walk out the door. And it just got ugly after that. with years of playing moso and (when Lincoln was forced back )trying to sneak that one win a season. .

I really dont want to go back to the MIAA. I kind of want to go play football in the GLVC like SW Baptist and Lincoln go to do for a while

Depends on the league. But I think with the schedule this year they are putting a toe in the water to test it some.

If I remember right, their deal with the MIAA for football has an expiration date. I think they have until next year to decide.

I kind of get the feeling they are looking for a new conference for football and don't really want to come back.

In all seriousness it is truly amazing what has happened at NSU. I literally would’ve never thought I’d see the day. Idk why they don’t just come back to the MIAA? Wasn’t the independent thing just a “break” to right the ship? It appears that mission has been accomplished.

those of us that have hair on our beans have seen the juco and pay for play routes that teams take. its not sustainable. its exactly how coaches get contracts cacnelled. if you think your coaches schemes to get kids out of other areas of the country to come to tahle fuggin quah oklahoma is going to be a long term thing, youre delusional. both of mine were recruited there. both were offered. both said it was a sh*thole outside of the floating the river. one of the DTs i coached earlier in his career went there to play nose (2 or 3 years ago)and got jumped in the dorms by 4 kids for playing country music on "thier" floor before the first practice. he left the school and has been the starting hvw wrestler for a d2 school since. but, you guys are correct, awesome environment to be in. the 20 minutes after the last second ticked off the clock last year, you guys looked like a tiktok video of the dance offs you see at hbcu graduations. it was ridiculous. kids slamming thier helmets into the logo at midfield. using thier cleats to try and dig holes on the UCO at midfield...3 or 4 of you ran to the end zone and jumped in the waterfall. a few minutes later when the parents poured onto the field (which they do every single home game), shoving broke out and a young kid (7 or so) was trampled, a dad was punched and all the players poured out of the weight room to try and clear you guys out when a bunch of nsu players buckled up and jumped into the middle of it swinging. 4 or 5 pockets of fights were going on simultaneously. cops had to rush the field to break it up. classless. absolute trash. for our AD to say that team will never be allowed on our field again as long as that HC was on the team, says something.

its more than "being in your feelings" its letting everyone know what kind of trash organization you guys are affiliated with. from the coaches that didnt stop it to the kids who lack the ability to control the emotions after a win.

"You guys" don't seem to have a problem promoting the opportunity to live the D1 dream & go ride the pine elsewhere if/when the opportunity presents itself.

I would respectfully disagree that this "trash organization" is specifically trying to go juco blueprint and recruit nationally. They've recently made a big emphasis on recruiting Tulsa metro and NWA region. If a kid balls-out and levels up, so be it.

"You guys" don't seem to have a problem promoting the opportunity to live the D1 dream & go ride the pine elsewhere if/when the opportunity presents itself.

Northeastern was called trash when they were losing games by 50+ and trash for winning by 50+.

And I'm being perfectly honest here I hate Edmond I think it's ugly I think the campus is ugly and it hasn't gotten better even though they've improved it dramatic this is the first time I visited back in 99. To each its own. I'm really not going to take a lot of stuff from UCO about quality of student athlete because we've all had bad people. They might be doing juco's but they're trying to do the Kansas jucos. They started with the California ones yes and they probably got some bad people a lot of those people have cycled out. Sometimes you got to take questionable people when you're getting started from the bottom that's just how it is. That's why I said what's the program like in year five would be the more important than what it was in year two
