Thats been on the books for a while on the Central Arkansas website.

Both teams still have 1 non conference game to fill.

Note: Central Oklahoma just opened up a page to post their 2026 schedule so looks imminent that we will see if that matchup does happen.

This is literally in the last few minutes on the UCO schedule page.

Their second non conference game will be against future D2 LSC member Texas Wesleyan on the road on 8/27.

Looks like NE State may need to look eastward again to fill that last D2 game.

I don't follow the MIAA super closely, is UCO still considered a playoff contender? If they are, then scheduling your two non-conference games against non-D2 opponents is definitely a choice.

My next question would be if Texas Wesleyan counts as a D2 game since they have declared the move?

If not, then they have put themselves in a silo and in the same boat as the GAC teams when if you lose more than 1 game, adios to playoffs.

Interested to see if they are planning to play other D2 teams this year.

They do not. They announced their intent to move after the Feb. 1st deadline to submit D2 member applications for the upcoming athletic season.

But all of that committee stuff is gone, they're going to NPI based selection criteria. And the UCO may only play conference d2 games, but the rest of the conference Is playing mainly d2 OOC games, so the .500 SOS will not be a thing unless it is a coincidence. That's only locked in when there will be exactly as many losses as wins in a conference.

Its a head scratcher to me why they are playing the game in Ft. Worth instead of Edmond?

They play their first 3 games on the road and only 4 home games total this year.

Their first home games isnt until 9/26.

Yeah I keep forgetting about all that but surely only 9 D2 games will be some sort of negative at some point if they dont win the MIAA?

I am interested to see the "dials" that are going to be set for football in the NPI on what is weighted the most.

It didn't hurt Ferris in the past.

I'm also interested to see what the dial system looks like

Looks like it's a 2 year home and home
