Actually, cost is a little over $30 million. They have raised several million since the original announcement and are working on more.

Speaking of stadiums, WT folks are talking about their great new facility and I’m sure it will be. Both schools are spending roughly the same dollar figures but Tarleton is only building one side of stands. The current home side will become the visitor and student side. My understanding is it will be torn down and a new east stands will be in place.

Correct a total of $30M on TOP of the existing facility. And WT is building from scratch for $38M.

        Both facilities will be nice.

When I played...back in 19 something, I preferred a track between us and the fans. And as a coach, I was thankful for the track between us and the fans.

From a fan perspective I like the distance too so I have a better view of plays developing. Maybe I am just used to watching games from my suite at AT&T.

26, 30, or 40 million it doesn’t matter as long as Daddy war bucks Myers is in the picture. He will get whatever funding is needed.

I was talking with the Tarleton President last year and he said the NCAA has some rules about the distance the stands have to be from the sideline. The distance is fairly large so removing the track would not have had a major impact on the stands. There will be no more OU or Okie State stands on top of the benches.

Okie State’s set up is beyond ridiculous.

Can you direct me to that NCAA rule?

Took a poll on the 5 biggest rivals we have in Commerce, here they are.

LMAO, and you want to be taken as a serious website?.....

"2. West Texas A&M-Now, we are going to start to get personal. First, let me say this. I feel bad for the WT fans, I really do. Their athletic director is a pencil necked ignoramus who obviously has a problem with coaches that win. What they did to Don Carthel was beyond awful. It was not just getting rid of a good coach, but painting a man as something he was not just because the administration and AD had a personal axe to grind with him. On top of that, they decided to “self report” some violations to implicate (or attempt) to implicate Colby Carthel as essentially a cheater for having the audacity to pay to out his own pocket for a young child to see a doctor and a poor redshirt freshman to have a roof over his head. Thankfully, our administration and AD saw right through that charade because they know the kind of man Colby Carthel is. Now, the hate meter gets turned up. I was in Canyon in 2013 and heard the boos and jeers when we entered the stadium and when Lion fans were trying to get to their seats. It was the last time they beat us, since then we have beaten them by 27, 18, 36, and 22 points. Basketball is also where the rivalry is hot. WT got the better of us this year and they have a great program. Half of WT’s fans hate us and the other half are reasonable, while ALL of them are jealous of the success we have had from Fall to Spring sports and everything in between. They are not helping themselves by thinking that attempting a halfback pass in a game where we are up by only 14 with plenty of time is being a bad sport. Note to the Amarillo Paper: If Colby Carthel wanted to “run it up”, he would have beaten you MUCH worse than only 22. Again, Colby Carthel is not that kind of man and the attempts to smear him as a bad guy are just now getting laughable. Get over it WT."

                      A couple of takeaways.....

                      1. WT is one of the TOP 10 winningest Athletic Programs in the country for nearly the past decade. Where is Commerce on that list? Saying McBroom hates winning coaches is absurd.
                      2. Don Carthel lied to his boss. Most folks that do that get fired. Period.
                      3. WT self reported the infractions because the NCAA mandates that institutions do that once infractions are discovered. No matter how stupid the rule that the NCAA imposes, WT was still obligated to report that it was broken.
                      4. In 2013, there were about 10-20 Commerce fans at the game, they sat on the east side, no WT fans were on that side. The fans weren't booed. Give me a break.
                      5. You dont think the Carthels are the kind to "run it up". In 2014, Colby ran the score up 98-20 on East Texas Baptist with Tyrik Rollison in nearly the whole game just to get a little press. I remember in college when the Buffs were up by 40+ against Adams State that in the final moments of the game, Carthel called for a fake kneel and launched a pass to the endzone just to get more points.

I think its time for you to change your username and website for the 4th or is it the 5th time. Once everyone sees the clown that you are, you usually get a new name. I think we are to that point.

                      And for Bonus points...

                      6. In your writeup about Midwestern, you actually wrote this, "TAMUC is the number ONE school for teachers in the entire state and 13th in the entire nation, including EVERY SINGLE IVY LEAGE SCHOOL", then this, " The TAMUC MBA program has been a Top 5 program NATIONALLY 4 of the past 7 years". Delusional doesn't even begin to describe your mental state...

I was hoping to read some good rivalry stuff within the LSC, not a personal tirade. Lost some street cred or cool points in my opinion. There is not an announcer that you cannot say does not say stupid stuff on the air... or fans talking out their asses during or after the game. Seen it at every LSC stadium the past four seasons, to be honest some of the worst seen was from a group spewing their vial crap over the visiting locker room in Commerce. I put it on the group, not the entire Lion fan base.

I was ready to read about the head to head match ups, the hard hitting, good ole fashion rivals kind a stuff.

The talent was outstanding, the planets aligned, and the football gods smiled upon Commerce in 2017. Proud you all should be. Many congratulations were sent on this very site.

I was hoping to read where the Lions 1-4 head to head record the past four seasons placed the Mustangs on the list. Not about announcers, moms, daughters, teaching, MBAs, Just good ole fashion football.

You should go join CNN or some other news network. Why let facts get in the way of a good story? TAMUC has a strong basketball program ? Let's see 51-45 in conference the last 6 years hardly screams strong or puts fear into the other conference foes. I would say mediocre or average at best. It would take a novel to respond to the other opinions printed in this article. Let's just say those yellow and navy shades you are sporting blinded you to reality and put you in the lead for homer of the year.

Been to every LSC stadium except WNM and I doubt that will ever happen. Never had home fans be anything but nice. There are a couple of real jerks at aTi but they direct their comments toward the players, not the visiting fans.

"That aside, let me tell you what really gets me about MSU. First, they really think they are just better than Commerce is." - I mean you havent beaten us two years in a row since 99 (Technically, you had beaten us 10 straight times before that)? Since 99 you have only beaten us Twice...So ya statistically speaking over the past 18 years, We are better than you. That doesn't mean we over look you. We know that Commerce is a strong team. Since Colby took over the average margin of victory for MSU is only 3.8 Points.

But Hey, I think MSU should change their Slogan to "No matter the outcome, We are still better than Commerce." :loser:
