Is it really playing against them? I mean I know you are on the same field as them and get to say you played A&M and Baylor, but those are glorified scrimmages for the other schools and a paycheck for yours. That is the big school buying wins.

7. The move up is currently all hinging upon the student vote later this month. If it passes, we move. If not, we stay for now.

I could see the Southland remaining, but a few Texas schools from SLC and the SWAC leaving for the WAC.
Again... all speculation. I will get more info about facilities upgrades and the move later on.

You're 18 or 19. Last year you were a varsity QB and all the girls wanted you. The crowds loved you. You're walking into Kyle Field. The fans are louder than you've ever heard. They aren't here for you. They don't know or care about you. You look across the field. Where once you saw kids who would be on your highlight film you see only maroon clad monsters. They want one thing and one thing only. Make your trip here hell and to put you on their highlight film. Where once you could find solace in chasing a championship you don't even have that. Your team starts on offense. You can't even hear yourself think yet you must lead your team against these monsters of men. This team that wants to end you. Good luck, don't get hurt.Last edited by catatonic; 10-02-2019, 05:41 AM.

Ok, look. I know that happens. He wanted something imaginative. Considering I've been up since before the sun I wasn't putting much thought into, well anything more complicated than a microwave meal and tv. I did my best and if that's not good enough, well let's read your story.

At D3, UMHB is a favorite to win the whole damn thing. People know this and they get some of the best D3 players. They go up against conference mates Louisiana College and proceed to thump them 80-7. Last year at the D2 level, Tarleton played WNMU and beat them 58-0. We played down a level vs Doane this year and dominated all game long.
NDSU and Montana do the same thing at the FCS level. Do you think that A&M shys away from Bama when they go into Tuscaloosa or that Ohio State isn't trying to make a highlight reel out of the Michigan game? Does Notre Dame have problems recruiting people because they can't win a conference title?
You play the team that is in front of you and you play for the guys behind you. Maybe the conference title doesnt happen, but you sell them on building something special and you honor them with a unique opportunity - the class that guided Tarleton to Division 1.
??????No, Notre Dame doesn't have any issues recruiting. That said they're also an instantly recognizable program with a proud history that no Indies at any level can match.Last edited by Vulpes88; 10-01-2019, 07:54 PM.
