It's the HS stadium. Not UTPBs stadium. And that's okay...MSU-Texas plays in a HS stadium....Angelo used to...and so did WT. As your program grows, they will eventually have the financial commitment/resources to get their own on campus football stadium. Versus driving 13 miles to another city to play. When football games are on campus, the gameday atmosphere will be electric. Plus, on campus facilities do wonders for recruiting vs hs stadiums.

Correction one of you said WT use to play in a High School Stadium. Incorrect. Buffalo Bowl was built in 1959 for WT, first game was dedicated by Lyndon Johnson, first game against U of Arizona, WT lost 7 to 6. Stadium seats 20k, can accommadate 24k like it did at one of the games about 15 yrs ago against ENMU. This UTPB will become a good rival and UTPB will prob move up to 1AA in football while we at WT sit in lowly D2.
It was a HS stadium since 1991 when WT leased it to Canyon ISD, then sold it to them in 2017.
"In September 2017, Canyon ISD purchased the stadium from West Texas A&M.[3] The stadium had previously been leased to Canyon ISD since 1991."
I started following LSC in '08 and it was the HS stadium that WT played in at that time.
