But this guy was like the 5th string QB for the FBS national runners up. Perfect fit for D2!

Well that is a relief. I hear there is a school in Texas moving up, they could probably use a quarterback of such quality.

CWU just got commitments from 2 more DBs:
        Olympia DB Coen Cronk
        Emerald Ridge DB Isaiah Jennings

Jennings only played 1 year in WA after moving up from Texas, so he wasn't recruited too heavily and is a big time steal/under the radar recruit. Had an offer from Idaho though. https://247sports.com/high-school/wa...ate-218916958/

12 of CWU's 17 known commits are defensive players, 6 being DBs

Hey, Wildcat Nation, check-out Ryken Echohawk. He is a impressive RB in the CWU mold from Pocatello and on Fisk's radar. Also Brayden Welch a DE from Oregon.

I know Welch has an offer. As far as I know his only other offer D2 or higher is from Ivy League's Brown. As far as offers go, one of the top offensive players in Hawaii WR Eric Stephens has nearly 30 college offers and is currently visiting Pueblo today and CWU next weekend. He had like 2300 AP yards last season. Mt. Spokane All-State WR Bode Gardner also has offer. But also offers from EWU and Idaho and a PWO from Northwestern. And only QB I know of with offer is West Seattle's Bo Gionet. We will see who else commits in the coming days!

WOW Central just struck gold! Got 3-star Mount Si HS running back Beau Phillips! This guy had previous offers from FCS programs Idaho State, UC Davis, and Montana which he initially committed to. Not sure if he lost his offer from Montana or something else happened to make him switch from Montana to CWU. Also had an offer (I assume PWO) from Washington State. Maxpreps stats are probably incomplete, but he had 3177 all-purpose yards in three seasons of high school varsity. Probably more than that though. This past season he was named the 4A Offensive Player of the Year by the state HS coaches association.

Also got commit from Basic HS (Nevada) DT Antoine Taylor

Looks like Phillips decommit from Montana, then received a PWO from WSU and an offer from Central, committing to the latter. https://247sports.com/high-school/wa...LumS2aZuuaIjGU

Angelo State has ANOTHER portal casualty. Angelo State DL transfer Amieh Williams commits to Tulsa.

CWU does a good job of retaining their top players. Only players who transfer are the ones not seeing the field. I thought Tanner Volk would surely transfer to D1 so for him to stay says quite a bit about the CWU program.

Any word on where Tre'jon might end up?

Was looking at one of our high school's facebook page here in Montgomery this morning.

Lake Creek High school is 5A regional Houston power that only lost to eventual state champion Port- Neches Grove by 3 points this year.

They had 5 players sign at D2 schools and 1 player at SFA.

The D2 schools were Henderson State (2), Hillsdale (2), and Colorado Mines (1).

John Matocha came from Magnolia West High only a few miles away so looks like Colorado Mines has a pretty good recruiting footprint down here.

Nothing new on his Twitter. Has a handful of LSC programs to pick from unless he has a higher offer he never announced.

I was wondering if the different academic calendar prevented a mid year transfer

I hate to see these schools ignore their state, they are regional universities, not UCLA or Michigan. I've said a number of times I think Western Oregon blows it by focusing too much on California, though they do have a healthy number of in-state kids now. Their basketball team is a joke with one in-state player and they're the worst team in the conference. That's just bad. I don't think our athletic director pays attention to any of these trends or wins and losses.
It also depends on how your school defines out of state.

WOU signs 12 from WA, CWU signs three from OR.
