In my opinion, I don't think McCullough will be at UTPB in 2026, I think he's at FCS program. Although, I think McCullough with some resources for coaches and facilities would easily win a national championship at West Texas A&M University, a public university in Canyon, Texas
I agree. He was passed over for Lynn in the first place. I would like to see how he handles adversity and rebounds in recruiting and philosophy after losing a couple of QB's to graduation and injury.

Its probably 90% true. The whole family made it a point to pound WT into oblivion once it became obvious that WT wasnt going to hire Colby after Don retired and then Colby made WT their B!tch during his time at commerce. Also McBroom and Wendler flipping him the finger at SFA when there was supposed to be some sort of reconciliatory handshake before the game when WT played SFA a few years ago and it never happened. Of course Ironic that McBroom is now there with Colby. Also Don isn't going to coach under a president who doesnt give a $hit about football regardless who the new AD is. It a moot point given his age and climate of college football now.

I remember that reconciliation plan. McBroom didn’t show up. Wendler had nothing to do with Don.

Wendler passed on the original AD candidates and went to Grand Valley where football is king. Why would he have done that if he hates football? Everyone knows I’m not a fan of Wendler but he seemingly did okay on the AD hire. Time will tell.

Not trying to sound like a douche, just saying the AD oversees all sports and not just football.

When I see Wendler at least most of the home games and works to get WT fully funded for football then I will give more of a pass.

Also remember the panhandle first and not until you are a junior plan.

Do you talk with Don? Have you ever asked him?

I personally have seen him frequently at WT events, and he was at the AD's introductory presser. I don't think Don has any hard feelings for WT at this point. If he hated WT, it would be weird that he goes to WT events. Not quite sure where that is coming from, other than people that just assume that since he was fired he hates WT.

All of West Texas A&M is allowed to spend to the max. I did a public records requests. 100% fully funded, using 100% is a different story.

Very good and thank you for the research.

I will retract the not fully funded part.

Now this make it even more frustrating that recent coaches have not been able to get WT back to a competitive level.

It's ironic that of all the jobs McCullough pursued or showed interest in, UTPB was in the worst shape before he arrived, yet it has improved significantly compared to the others that didn't receive the same level of attention.

                        Great.

If you know Don, ask him yourself....I won't speak specifics on a public forum on his behalf.

But I ONE MILLION % stand by my statement: "Absolutely NOTHING would get Don Carthel to WT. He is a proud man and once he was FIRED, GAME OVER."

And I mean coaching, not visiting or whatever. πŸ™„

And I put any amount of money where my mouth is.

if BuffaloChip ponied up and offered him a Million dollar contract each year I would think he would reconsider.

That being said I would love to see that money building the team. Haha.

Well, then that makes two of us.

Yet, I have a big, BIG pocket to back it up.

                              You??

Furthermore....did you talk with Don since my post and ask him yourself?

I take it you didn't, otherwise you'd know better. Instead you make up sh!t and have zero clue what you are talking about.
