Seems like a logical landing spot with his coach

If it were me I would much rather go to a school where I could get some visibility for the NFL. That won't be Portland State anytime soon.

If this doesn't get this cranked up, they won't go out and find another coach, they'll cut the program. There's a lot of people in Portland who would like to see the program go away, don't get me started.

They had their moments a long time ago including when they were D2 and they had a coach named Pokey Allen, who was drawing about 10K to 12,000 a game and they got to the National semifinals. Fans didn't seem to mind that they were D2 but then they made the leap up and it's been a constant struggle in every sport. It's a commuter school, they simply don't have the resources to play big time football or even FCS football. Now that division 2 is smaller schools in the West, they don't want to associate themselves with those schools.

I think they made a great hire. FCS jobs in the west are really hard to come by. Montana and MSU are the two best programs and those coaches don't appear to be leaving anytime soon. The Montana State coach was in talks with Oregon State and Washington State, they went in different directions. The Montana coach once took the UNLV job, failed spectacularly, and ran back to Missoula where I believe they got second in the nation last year. Both of those schools have tremendous fan support and great facilities.

Fisk needs some support from his institution to win. I still think it was a great hire, however. The dude can flat out coach.

Well McGill won't be playing in the NFL anyways. For him, he's just looking for our division 1 school to play in for his senior season. He would be better than any of the quarterbacks they had last year

If I were him, I would go for the top NIL offer, unless Portland State's is close.

I agree in general, but Kennedy McGill will get zero looks from the NFL no matter where he goes.

All-Con 2nd team Freshman DB and punt returner Mika Roberson and WR/kick returner Samaje Featherstone both hit the portal. Roberson has 4 picks and 9.4 yards per punt return, while Featherstone had 37 yards per kick return

Man I feel for Central Washington.

Hopefully the program weathers the storm and can remain competitive for the playoffs under a new head coach.

He was pretty impressive when I watched the CWU-UTPB game.

Let's have an honest talk about the portal. At the FCS level some schools hardly give anything. These D2 guys go in the portal and land at some far flung place and think that's golden, while sitting on the bench collecting $5,000 that year. I'm not joking I know one fairly decent FCS school that has $50,000 in portal money, that's for all of their sports.

Division 2 doesn't have much or any portal money, but you can get a decent scholarship at a school. I won't speak for Texas FCS schools, I'm guessing they got a bunch of people forking it out down there. I know in the Northwest that Eastern, Idaho, and Portland State have next to nothing in nil money. Montana and Montana State have been playing great lately and I'm guessing they might have some. They also have some great in-state players they got out of high school and both schools seem to retain those guys for four or five years. It's impressive and these players get to play deep into FCS playoffs and sometimes in the title game.

I'll use McGill as an example. The guy could really make a name for himself next year at Central Washington, while he might be taking maybe a couple thousand to go to some FCS School and maybe not start. The guy throws great intermediate and short passes but can't throw it deep accurately. He would not start it either Montana school and not Idaho this year. I don't understand disrupting a pretty good college football career for a couple thousand dollars for a sub .500 FCS team, where they'll probably sit on a bench. Have fun with it.

His name was also called a ton in the Harding game.
