    Graham-Kapowsin TE Quinncey Ratteray

Summit HS 6'6" 200 lb WR Kellen Bailey

    Ridgeview TE/DE Danner Frost
Thanks for the updates I'm surprised that some of the inroads they made in the state of Washington particularly at Graham-K, perhaps the top prep program in the Northwest. I know the Banks guy is really good, excellent Oregon in-state kid. I don't know anything about the Battle Ground guy. I really appreciate the updates, they're having a really nice recruiting year.

Central's new prep running back sounds outstanding. It's great to see both schools still recruiting in high schools. The portal has overtaken D1 and even a lot of FCS. I've talked to prep coaches and high school players and they feel that prep kids are getting left out a lot these days. Kudos to Central and Western for signing some excellent high school kids in the Northwest.

Well, here's a nice little recruiting win for Western Oregon over Central, but Lake Oswego offensive lineman Adam Williams just committed to Western. He also had an offer from Central that was with the old coaching staff and I do not know if the new staff continued to pursue him. Won the 6A State Championship and was named All state 6A first team. He even had an offer from Fisk's staff at Portland State, A couple other division 2 teams and just about every WA/OR division 3 team.

Central used to recruit really well out of Oregon with the old coaching staff because some of those coaches are from Oregon. But I do not know how heavily the new coaching staff will recruit out of Oregon at least initially. So Western Oregon might start getting some recruits going forward that Central used to steal from them.

Sumner HS 4A State Champion defensive end Shaun Griffith has committed to CWU! He racked up 84 tackles (15 for loss) and 9 sacks and was named both All Area & All-State by The News Tribune, also being named WSFCA All-State 4A 1st Team and the SPSL 4A North Defensive POTY!

CWU just added another edge rusher in 3-star recruit Sylen Kiesel-Kauhane, the #31 2026 recruit in Washington. He is just the first 3-star recruit to commit to CWU, compared to the 4 3-star recruits who joined Central from last year's class.

                2 more CWU commits:

O'Dea OL Griffin Matzen. 3A All State and state champ
Gonzaga Prep DB Jack Pierce. 4A All State

                  More WOU commits:

                  Reynolds DE Kanani Taukolo
North Salem RB/DB Jakai Phillips, also had Portland State offer
                  Ingraham (WA) OL/DL Josiah Bailey
                  Lakeridge DB Obama Shibu
                  West Salem WR/DB Evan Wusstig
Oak Harbor (WA) TE/DE Cohen Esvelt
Nelson LB Tuipulotu Katoanga, also had Portland State offer

With signing period opening tomorrow, I am thinking CWU will still be signing players and transfers well after signing day. CWU still needs to double the number of current known commits they have right now. But it does look like CWU's new staff isn't recruiting any of the Oregon kids the old staff was recruiting, so Western Oregon may reclaim some of their territory at least for now.

CWU is announcing all their signees on their CWU Football X account.

Some new signees I did not previously post about:

Glacier Peak RB Isaiah Owens. I thought CWU was only planning on adding 1 RB (Chace Webster) but opted two add one more, as rushing is their offensive strength.

Two tight ends in Anacortes' Micah Dickison, a 2x 2A state champ, and Meridian's Daniel Larsen. Tight end is a position that CWU could sure bolster, so nice additions. However, CWU has not yet announced any WRs yet, which is a concern.

Offensive lineman Parker Otheim 6'5" 290 lb, was named News Tribune All-Area and had 8 other offers despite only playing football for 3 years! OL commits from the previous coaching staff Hector Pena (Cedarcrest) and Ben Edwards (Kennewick) both signed with CWU too.

Idaho State transfer DT Brady Phillips, a former 3-star recruit out of Kelso HS who originally committed to Air Force Academy before spending the last 2 years at ISU

                      Issaquah LB Grant Fitzgerald

Lake Stevens safety Dylan Phinney, who racked up nearly 200 tackles and 7 picks in the last 2 seasons. Also had offers from WOU and from Fisk at Portland State. Federal Way DB Jay Sinclair flipped his commitment from Montana Tech, to Western Oregon, then to CWU! (sorry tsull)

Also, former CWU commit kicker Kyler Phillips did follow Coach Fisk to Portland State, leaving the CWU special teams unit very thin with 1 kicker and no punter.

So far, 20 incoming recruits for CWU: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 TE, 4 OL, 5 DL, 1 LB, 4 DB, 1 K. I would expect more to be announced, especially transfers. But pretty good with the coaching change, as the new staff did great at recruiting several guys who had an offer from the previous staff.

Here is my updated recruits tracker for CWU: https://cwuwildcatnation.blogspot.co...uits-2026.html

WOU announcing their class on X: https://x.com/WOU_FB

Pretty big class. Has that 3-star QB from California who is the prize of the class. But tons of in state guys plus a few from Washington. Multiple guys who also held offers from CWU's old coaching staff who the new CWU staff didn't pursue. So WOU appears to have reclaimed their state from CWU in regards to recruiting. No one in CWU's current recruiting class is from Oregon.

I don't have X so if you can cut and paste, that would be great. Disappointingly, they're pulled a lot of stuff back from their main website. I went to X and didn't see anything, then again, I'm not a subscriber so maybe I don't get it. I've greatly reduced my social media intake.

44 recruits. Wow! And quite a few from Washington too. WOU must be pretty upset from finishing just short last season so they are hungry!

Thanks, nice to read about this class. Lots of Northwest guys and a fine California QB. I like that it's become a strong, regional Northwest program. I hope we can maintain the success. Coaching continuity has really helped.

Quite frankly, Western Oregon definitely won the recruiting game over Central this year. They are loading up while CWU isn't even able to recruit a wide receiver nor did they add a high school QB in their class. Should be a pretty good rivalry going forward.
