Coach will be Wayne or Bemidji depending on the last week.

Offense is Wayne and Bemdiji QBS --- would have been either Sherwood or Reisdorfer if eaither stayed healthy and played every game .

DPY -- I am gonna go out on a limb and Say Onte Burns. He has been actually underappreciated the last three years as folks (incorrectly) attributed his tackles to SMSU being bad on defense thus inflating the numbers but this season has shown he is the real deal with the same great stats on a much more balanced team and much better team.

Reisdorfer has played in every game this season. He missed part of the Winona game, but returned the next week against Mankato.

Ian Marshall for DPOY. 2nd in the nation in sacks, 3rd in the nation in TFL

For Coach....I kinda look at as how did they do versus expectations....BSU is about what we figured given what they had return. Mankato always has high expectations and they didn't go unbeaten like plenty of years past. Wayne....they were 7-4 last year..so 9-2 is better for sure and the playoffs are new to them here.

How about first year head coach Brian Bergstrom or maybe his DC (assistant)....seeing as Winona has only made the dance once in the last decade..?

I'm not sure SMSU gets any of the awards, being an under .500 squad..but maybe. I'm thinking some names like Alt at QB, Bohn at Wayne maybe..Thuro..etc. I think Marshall is a lock for the D..and maybe newcomer also..haha

That is mind-blowing when you realize that he is a defensive tackle. He isn’t getting easy one-on-ones on the outside. He is having to fight through two or three guys to get those sacks. And to think that we more than likely have one more year with him…..

I would add Peter Menage, the special teams coach for WSU for coordinator of the year. They have 5 special teams touchdowns on the year and the kicker has 5 made field goals of over 40 yards. I don't believe they have given up a special teams touchdown this year either (knock on wood)

I would nominate Minot Long Snapper Steven Brown for specialist of the year. There may be more deserving, but I'm a little biased.

I don't think there is such an award.

Well in that case, at least in my mind, he's already won that award! Congratulations Steven Brown of Minot State!

Then it's time to make our own award categories, a people's choice award if you will.

What about coaches who quadruple their expectations? I know, I know...

I know there isn't (yet), but the dad of a D2 long snapper can dream can't he?
