Only win in the series for Minot State came in 1996.

IMO, the Wayne at Moorhead is the game of the week. WSC looked awesome against Mo ST. Bohn was sharp, Boyd ran for 141 yards. Defense was stout, featuring 2 D-linemen, Peed, Rasmussen, LB Kowalczyk and shutdown corner Flye. I expect Jack Strand and his cadre of excellent receivers are ready to carve defenses up. Happy Augie doesn't face the Wildcats this season.

I thought the Cats looked pretty pedestrian at times. I feel like S&T would have had success if they would have committed more to the ground game.....

          This Moorhead game scares me

I was hoping to make it out to the WSU vs MSUM game tomorrow night, but I’ll have to try the stream instead. That’s a good test in week one for the Dragons.

what is the general consensus in the USF vs Northern matchiup? Can Northern give them a game?

BSU’s offense had some hiccups, but improved down the stretch. I think Tech’s defense was decent. The Beavers will need to be on their A game to have a good shot. The last couple of matchups between these two have been fun.

does anyone know anything about Winona’s opponent?

Looking forward to a good week of chat

Sounds like a decent time to mention our weekly preview dropped last night. Expect that to kinda be our norm. Anyway, nice slate of game tonight..love having them spread of between Thursday and Saturday.

I have SMSU winning but the Minot game concerns me a bit because there are so many unknowns. They almost squeaked by the last time I saw them in Marshall.

I do think this will be a good game. It's hard to take much from the game vs. USD but I did like some of what I saw, especially on defense and with the running game. USF went into St. Thomas and beat a team that many of us probably overrated a little bit. But, I do think USF will be much improved over last season. Anything can happen in a night game at The Bank.

Peacocks had the turnover bug against Butler but overall moved the ball well. The defense played really well and only gave up scores on short fields or the deep ball. If they clean that up I think CSP’s streak against the Peacocks end.

Agreed, it seems like it should be an evenly matched game.

I think both CSP and UIU look at each other as a must win game. For CSP they've stuck with their QB and it's finally the Senior year so we really need that experience to show and pay off.

Here's a bit of a scheduling oddity - South Dakota college football fans have seven in-state matchups to watch through the first six weeks of the season (assuming I organized everything correctly):

8/29: Northern State University vs. University of South Dakota and Dakota Wesleyan University vs. Dakota State University
9/7: University of Sioux Falls vs. Northern State University and Mount Marty University vs. Dakota Wesleyan University
9/14: Augustana University vs. South Dakota State University
9/21: Augustana University vs. Northern State University
9/28: No In-State Game - but Mount Marty University vs. Morningside University will happen roughly 6-7 miles from the South Dakota border.
10/05: Black Hills State University vs. South Dakota School of Mines and Technology

The only other two in-state matchups during the regular season are:

10/26: University of South Dakota at South Dakota State University
11/9: University of Sioux Falls at Augustana University

Maybe it's always been like that, but I think the addition of the MVFC/NSIC matchups made it unique. I wasn't going to include NAIA until I saw the MMU/MU game and thought it was a funny coincidence. In terms of road distance from the stadium to the border, Briar Cliff wins, but they don't have an SD opponent that week so MU gets the nod.

WSC up 14-0 midway through the 2nd quarter. 2 passing TD’s to the RB Boyd! Great concepts getting 1 on 1 coverage for Boyd as Moorhead is more keyed in on the WR’s.

Wayne getting pressure on Strand rushing only 3 to 4 players has been a great recipe for success. Winning the LOS
