It's not comparable. The elite players from Canada mostly opt to play in the NCAA -- not all, but most. Last year NCAA D1 had more than 150 Canadian players.

IUP scrimmaged a D1 Canadian school last September and blew them out.

He had some nice D2 offers (IUP and U-Indy).

Never know. Maybe in a year or two.

Edit: correction ... he signed with D1 Southern Illinois (Ohio Valley Conference).

    Bryce Radford
    K.J. Rhodes
    Kyle Polce (incoming scholarship freshman)

    Post:

    Tommy Demogerontas
    Ethan Porterfield
    Ousmane Diop

    Utility:

    Dylan Benton

    Walk-on:

Jackson Faulk (Guard / Incoming freshman)
Nolan Burk (Center / Incoming freshman)

    Outstanding offers:

Michael Matas (Stretch 4 / Canada)
    Jelani Simmons (Guard / YSU)

Notes: Polce will obviously redshirt. Luckily, of the returning players, all have already taken a redshirt season ... all except Ethan Porterfield. Joe's not even crazy enough to do that ...

If I had to bet they've moved on from Simmons. A big who can play immediately would be more beneficial. Matas could play as a true freshman in a limited role to start. He would give Joe three bigs who can all stretch the floor -- and leave Diop inside to wreck havoc.

That's going to be a loaded team -- regardless of who this last player is.

One other item is they have 'at least' one full scholarship available as of today. There's speculation one of the players is on an academic full ride. So, it's possible there could be two signings before it's all said and done.
I'm told Anthony White is not returning and going back closer to home.

No question. But if he played at Howard, he could say at barbecues later in life that he played D1. Maybe it's always been his dream to play D1. (And so on and so forth). He'd be best served playing at IUP or UIndy. Just like some D3 kid would be better served playing at a top D3 (like a Randolph Macon) than playing at Seton Hill.

If Redshirt Joe is crossing the boarder he must have some coin saved up. There's only one spot left. Most thought it would be a transfer. He did make some connections on their trip up there last fall.

Howard is the Seton Hill of D1 basketball. LOL.

His film is very similar to Ethan Porterfield's a year ago.

I thought they did pretty well on the All-Decade men's teams. The toughest call was Ashton over Malik.

Mathis Keita being left out was probably the toughest decision as far as the final 10 players.

In honor of Joe, each team (first and second) should have had a 7-man rotation. Each team could have also had two redshirts and a walk-on ready to play by mid-January.

So, on the D2 level, he has IUP, Lincoln Memorial and U-Indy among the top-tier programs. He also has 4-5 low D1 offers. It appears he's trying to wait this out and see if a bigger school makes a late run at him.

There are a couple other offers in play inside the KCAC -- this is just the only public one. We'll see who signs first to play for Redshirt Joe (and, hopefully they've already taken a redshirt year).
That kid must be that damn good!

IUP has signed 6'2" shooting guard Kyle Polce (Pine-Richland High School).

    Polce is a scholarship player.

    One spot left.

The kid from Steel Valley picked West Chester .. over IUP, Ship, Boro and Youngstown State.

Must be that academic money ....

My opinion is he'll be Part 2 of this past year's WCU phenom. One and done.

Joe has a recruiting issue this year for high school guards. Automatic redshirt. That makes things harder.
