The other NSIC team getting in (probably Duluth, right?) could be 8th, however if they are the 7 seed then hopefully Northern wouldn’t be the two. I’m always a big advocate for avoiding the conference rematches in the regional first round.
Agreed. I have a terrible memory but I feel like they have done a good job of avoiding conference matchups that first round.

    • What a run for the Wolves program! 3-Peat regular season and tourney champs is something to really be proud of. A lot of Northern fans weren’t sure what to expect after all NSU had lost over the past 2 seasons, but this has been a really fun season. Can’t wait to see who we draw for the regional, and hope we can get the bitter taste of last year out of our mouths with a few wins in Missouri.

Mankato is going to be really good next year and Seales is going to be one of the most entertaining players in the league for 3 more seasons. I had to laugh when he chuckled after his airball.

Awesome all around performance by the Wolves. It’ll be interesting to see if they get that 2 seed.
Also if Mankato gets the 8.

I don’t think this can be ruled out...

          • For the first time ever, it seemed like Mason Stark was forcing things a little.... and he still went 12-18 from the field! That guy is amazing.

                • Recap of the Men’s championship

                  Northern 80 Mankato 59

Northern was just too much for Mankato this evening with Stark and Fox leading the way! Didn’t like how Mankato handled the ball screen switching Kramer onto guards. He doesn’t move his feet well enough to guard them. Looked like he was in mud all night. Seales was solid for Mankato but northern just has to much fire power. Congrats to Northern on the tourney win!

The comments were made in jest at the fact that Mankato always seems to find a way into the tournament. There is no way there are actually in the regional this year.

                      This legitimately made me laugh.

I'm always willing to admit my mistakes...I completely whiffed on this joke, despite the fact we just talked about it. I have failed, and for that...no one should be shocked.

                          • Early indications (in the Argus Leader write-up for the Wolves tournament championship) are that Fox will not likely be transferring this offseason, as lightly theorized by Moorhead123:

“That’s just the environment Northern State has set for us,” said Fox, who was named tournament MVP. “It’s really a championship environment. We expect to come down here and win and play our best. That’s who we are, and that’s the culture we’ve created.

“These are the best fans in the country,” Fox added. “I wouldn’t want to play in front of anybody else.”

I was just trying to give Parker some extra motivation to knock Moorhead out of tourney....I know how much he struggles to get himself motivated for games and I figured I’d assist in that process.

I can definitely see and think it is likely Fox transfers, proved himself at the D2 level in a tough conference and can only imagine the teams that would go after him. He loves the spotlight and would thrive at a summit league school at the least. At this point, I would be more surprised if he doesn't transfer compared to if he does.
