First week of the season is Thursday/Saturday, and then the last week once again is Thursday/Saturday. Interested to see how that works out.
By GAAWWWDDD that's the NCC's music!!!!

Friendly reminder that basketball season officially opened yesterday. Maybe the NSIC will be as ridiculous on the basketball side as it has been on the football side this year.

Absolutely they can. The national championship game was in Wachs Arena last year. Washburn and NSU were way better opponents than anything seen at the Elite 8.

Oh please, on the day of their ring presentations at night, I'm sure that they will spend the afternoon getting sized for their 2021-2022 championship rings. As well they should. Just because 2 other teams in the region may be better than most of the rest of the country doesn't mean squat. NW is playing chess, while the rest of us are playing checkers. And some of us, my club included. are playing tiddly-winks.

I'd probably feel that way too if Hawkins was back. I think without him in the fold they are still the favorite but not a "no doubt, size up their 21-22 championship rings" favorite.

This is also "a thing" at Wayne this year, it appears. Looks like they are doing the first several conference weekends this way, but then switching to the traditional schedule in mid-January. Was this a league-wide decision? I'm, um...unenthused, especially for the early Friday starts. Saturday games are basically afternoon affairs either way.

Agree. I'm not saying they won't have another great year. The question was "can anyone compete with NW?". The answer is- Absolutely and last year proved it. Yes, I realize the other posters are being sarcastic. I believe the biggest challenges for the winner of this region will come from this region. The quality of teams at the Elite 8 was nowhere near the quality in our own region. Recent history bears that out- 5 out of the last 7 champions have come from this region and one of those years the region didn't win it we had the runner-up that lost in the championship. I don't expect it to change this year but we will see.
