I know that it’s hard to do with 22 conference games, but I would love to see something different with the travel partner games. The NSU - MSUM games are 2 of the bigger games every year and they are usually played around Thanksgiving and New Years. Both times are tough to create a good atmosphere. Last year was obviously different but playing the Dragons to end the season was a lot of fun, even with limited COVID attendance rules. It would involve some midweek games, but I think it would be cool to see.

Beyond that, wouldn't it make more sense to schedule the long travel games for last weekend and the next one? Classes aren't in session so if a team needs to do a ten hour bus ride at some point in the season it would be a lot easier to carve out the time in early January.

Credit northern for hitting some big shots late, but that’s a game Moorhead controlled throughout and has to win. Been a bit of an encapsulation of the season. Lose focus and/or don’t make necessary adjustments at crucial points. Up 14, knowing nsu shoots threes anyway, can’t give Busch two wide open threes. Also, many games the past few years with long scoring droughts. It appears that on some of the droughts Moorhead struggles to get good looks, late in shot clock before any action, etc. Plenty to be learned for sure, but Moorhead has to use a loss like that as motivation. Last two games against UMD (last few minutes of first half) and NSU (last few minutes of game) it appears that coaches and players quick to panic in face of some adversity. Not sure why that is with veteran group. Coaches need to lead with calm through the storm. Players need to execute better.
I am happy that nsu scorekeepers gave Msum all their points this year, regardless of the outcomes. :)

The Wayne offense has rarely been a thing of beauty but when you have the personnel to guard Janssen one on one most of the time it stifles a lot of what they try to do. Riemersma, Dykman, and Tiedman all had successful stints yesterday. Jordan loves to deal or initiate from the elbow but the size of Augie makes that difficult. Obviously this was greatly assisted by Eagins having an off game after he hit several big shots in the game at Wayne.
On the flip side I continue to have concerns about the sustainsustainability of Augie's offense given the volume of contested two pointers they attempt but they keep winning so I'll just continue to be pleasantly surprised.
