Between MBB and FB Northern seems to have an epidemic of the transfer flu. Very unfortunate.
It’s probably because they read some of nsu4life’s posts on this site. ;)
Transfer portal is very difficult reality for all in college athletics. The athletic departments and coaches that prioritize a strong and positive culture (and coordinate some decent player NIL money) have the best chance to keep a few more players around longer. Ultimately, many top players will seek greener pastures (and more NIL money), but program culture is going to be essential to keep players around. It’s not necessarily all about the money.

The portal will be even more tricky for D2 programs. A good DII player is probably worth thousands of dollars in NIL to a lower level DI. Will we start seeing DII filled with more drop down transfers that stay one year only? I tend to think so.
Hearing that Owen Hektner in portal for Msum. Unfortunately he never got in rotation. Hoped he would have the size and shooting ability to make an impact, but it just never materialized.
