I dont disagree, but Truman's game against Calvary University Westside boys club YMCA noon ball wasn't exactly a barn burner.

    • Molly Miller's Arizona State team traveled 1,382 miles and beat Gonzaga 68-66 in Spokane on Tuesday December 16. 3 days later, after traveling 1724 miles, Gonzaga beat Missouri State in Springfield
      tonight 68-49.

ASU starts conference play at 13-0 after an impressive 3 game road trip this last week.

      • Watched the ASU Gonzaga game a couple nights ago. ASU was down 2 key players, and led most of the game. GU made several runs but just couldn’t get the lead. The finish to that game had some controversy but still ASU hung on for the W. Credit to coach Miller on a fantastic start at ASU. Conference play starts this weekend but with a victory over Colorado they can tie the longest win streak in school history. There are no Arts schools on the schedule and winning on the road against decent teams.
Drury women are back at it with a rematch from an earlier loss in the. Next couple days. Can they show some improvement?

That earlier loss to Arkansas Ft Smith was that teams only win of the season. Injuries to two of the three point guards have set Drury back. The Juco pg hasn't seen the floor since early in the season. The Men have been a big disappointment again, even losing to lowly Truman State.

True. I don’t like any of those games. Looks like both of our teams could use a few more of those this year though. But I’m hoping our first year coach and practically all new roster gets it together soon.

            • Roster turnover has been an issue for several years now for the men. Drury started the season with 8 mostly freshmen newcomers and 2 returning starters. A starter was kicked off the team after the SBU game and a potential starter hasn't played a game after a pre season injury. Its not just the losing, its the losing by wide margins that is tiresome.

Hesser dealt with big turnover for a couple of seasons before the NIL, but still managed to pull upsets and almost win the GLVC Championship game in his last season.

              • Well... I thought that was going to be a blowout victory for the Drury women over a putrid Ark Ft. Smith team, but I guess a win's a win. Had hoped after looking better against GLVC competition that they would smash them. I think it shows that any team with even marginal athleticism will make things hard for this team. DU's starting power forward is giving them 3.1 ppg and 2.3 rpg in 26(!!!) minutes per game. She's started all 10 games. She's scored two points or less in 6/10 games. I'm guessing game 11 won't be the magic number where she puts it all together. Bailey has to make a change. Why not play Teague Muncy more? Try Brooke Teter, who is rotting on the bench, and was one of the best players in the region last year at Nixa. Mind-boggling stuff.

Can the men show up tomorrow against the No. 20 Fort Smith men at home? No clue. Since it isn't a conference game, ultimately it won't affect them much, but you don't want to head into the holiday break getting blown out at home. They'll need to look like a renewed team in in the new year or they'll be out of it by the end of January. Both teams are puzzling and it's hard to make an educated guess as to where either one ends up.

Man, you stole all my thunder. You wrote almost exactly what I did. These injuries to Josie and Reagan are not helping. I did see that Addy Roller's Cedarville team lost to Ashland by two points.
