  • Those four conferences I mentioned have more power than the NCAA does and have more to do with this BS than everyone else combined. There are players who are on their way to no education after 5 years in college. These kids have money now, but they will find out soon enough that a couple hundred thousand dollars doesn’t last very long.

Absolutely correct! I laugh at people who post on sports messaging boards about "generational" money these players are getting. It is hardly generational money, and a drop in the bucket of what the elite players make in the NBA and NFL. These athletes better be getting a good degree, because the vast majority are not playing at the next level and the money they are getting now will be gone in a few years!

      • Looks like Amy Eagan is the new head coach for the New Mexico Lady Lobos.

        • I mean Lindenwood was definitely only a stepping stone.

That's a pretty good jump for her!

          • Looks like everyone the Lady Panthers needed to return, will, according to my source. The outlook looks bright next season for the women.

Colin Hardrick has committed to Northern Illinois. Makes sense, he is from Milwaukee. According to Zach Howell's X page, he has about twenty offers: UIC Liberty
            Chattanooga
            Lindenwood
            SEMO
            Sacred Heart
            Queens
            Southern Miss
            IU Indy
            Iona
            Binghamton
            Arkansas State
            Rice
            NJIT
            Marshall
            South Dakota
            UC Riverside
            Northwestern state
            Lamar
            Vermont
These two will be a great help wherever they land. The portal has hurt chances for a deep Panther run into the next post season. Foster keeps bringing in good young talent though.

            • Sources: Zach Howell is leaning toward committing to Bowling Green.

              • Bowling Green. Sounds like a combination of two sports. There is probably a bowling pun that applies, but I will spare everyone.

AD addressing Iowa State WBB transfers: "I’m confident that ... we will have no shortage of student-athletes that want to transfer to Iowa State.... our coaches will have more than enough revenue share dollars to be able to attract some of the best student-athletes possible."

                • Northern Illinois lost to Quincy by double digits last year and finished the year with an RPI of 334 (out of 365 D1 schools).

They did just hire Northern Michigan's coach, so that's probably an immediate improvement.

                  • I bunch of Northern Michigan players have also transferred to Northern Illinois.

Northern Illinois is just another one of those greedy schools chasing football dollars and could care less about all the other sports. They put their football program into the Mountain West Conference (so stupid) and the MAC rightfully told them to get out of their other sports. So the Horizon took them in for all other sports.

So from a football standpoint, they moved to a bigger conference, from an "all sports" standpoint, they downgraded to the Horizon. In hoops Northern should be more competitive in the Horizon. There is no end though to college sports stupidity it seems!

I like Zach, he played his butt off this year. But I'm not sure his game translates well to the next level. I guess we'll see - hope it works out for him.

                      • I think he is ready for that level now. Zach had starts as a freshman for D1 Milwaukee, highlight was scoring 15 points against number 25 Colorado. Injuries limited his play later on.
