GLVC released their football schedule and UINDY was interesting

Six home games V GVSU, Hillsdale and Notre Dame College to name a few

Four away with @Wayne State being the interesting one

Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread

A PSAC poster on the MEC page said he expects one of the PSAC private schools (Seton Hill, Mercyhurst, Gannon) to seek G-MAC membership. I'm guessing he means SH, as the other two do everything together. Seems crazy, because it would spread the conference out even more. But it got me thinking. I've said before that if/once momentum starts going the G-MAC way, there may be enough profile-fitting schools for two conferences, so....

    The Great Mid-East Athletic Conference:

    Mercyhurst*
    Gannon*
    Seton Hill*
    Ashland*
    NDC*
    Lake Erie*
    Walsh*
    Malone*
    WJU
    AB*
    D&E
    WVW*
    Charleston*
    OVU
    + UC for women's sports

    The Great Mid-West Athletic Conference:

    Hillsdale*
    Findlay*
    Tiffin*
    ODU*
    Cedarville
    Urbana*
    UIndy*
    Taylor*
    IWU*
    KWC*
    BU
    TNU

    * Football

Totally agree with your statement. There are zero close football games for them with St Joe leaving.

Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread

Saw this D2 football map posted on another thread and when I looked at it, it really hit me how UIndy is much closer to the G-MAC schools. When you take St. Joes away, there are no football schools close to UIndy at all. There are at least 5 G-MAC schools that are as close or closer than the closest GLVC school is.

    http://www.masseyratings.com/map.php?s=295489&t=11606

BTW - in addition to proximity, the G-MAC supports all of UIndy's sports (whereas the GLVC does not). UIndy plays as an independent in Men's Lacrosse and in the GLIAC for Women's Lacrosse.

Also, the GLVC is down to 6 football schools. They borrow 2 schools from the MIAA to fill out their schedules, but the GLVC itself is down to 6.

Just food for thought - I'm not convinced anything is in the works.

With baseball over, you know what time it is:

Good luck to the Jackets and all current and future G-MAC schools at the Track and Field Championships down here in FL.

Wesleyan was eliminated 4-3 by Wayne State. They played their hearts out. This team has a very bright future.

Is there a place on the internet to listen to the baseball games?

I agree. Wesleyan lost one game in their last seven post season games. They were the #3 seed in the G-MAC. NCAA.com wrote an article highlighting Northwood, KWC, St. Joseph's and noted the Midwest Regional had possibly the best story lines in the tournament and all eight teams were very good. What does the NCAA know?

This KWC Team is still a young team. The G-MAC could easily wind up as the strongest conference in the Midwest, but USI is going D1 and they have never had a football team. Wesleyan will have a player in the NFL next season.

It's time to rise above this garbage on this Board.

What is with the NCAA Division II baseball tournament? Why do some regions have 8 teams, some have 7 teams, and one (the West) only has 6? There has to be a reason but that seemed very odd to me. And by the way, Arkansas-Monticello (the Boll Weevils) are a #8 seed still alive.

I would say it is a fairly big deal for Wesleyan and the GMAC. I am fairly sure Wesleyan has never been this far in baseball.
