Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread
Honestly, I wouldn't put too much faith into that thread. Some of the things they say are believable but it has way too much nonsense included.
A while ago, some posters said that the MEC had schools come to them asking to join but the MEC turned them away. Now it's turned into the MEC never went out to get schools because Jesuit screwed them over by not starting football and schools that were originally told to take a hike are asked to come back.
And throw in the continuous hate for Jesuit from every single West Lib poster and their need to make up rumors to get rid of us, it's really hard for me to believe anything they say.

Originally posted by BlueBlood View PostIts interesting, to say the least. I've heard similar stories before. There are several parts of it that make it very believable. CU is extremely tight with Walsh and Malone. That they are identified as 2 of the 3 targets does lend credibility. Also, ODU and Urbana were very involved with NDC, CU, Walsh and Malone in the initial plan to create an All-Ohio conference. So, that specific 6-some is interesting. "Killing off the G-MAC" is interesting. Back at the time, the MEC absolutely HATED AB. It was thick. The most venomous posts were lost when the message board crashed awhile back - but I can tell you, there was no love lost for AB. Would have certain members of the MEC wanted to "kill off" AB's conference? Interesting.

Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread
I've said a lot about this topic over the last few years... I now consider it a blessing that AB (supposedly) caused the WVIAC break up. I still like a few of the MEC schools, (Glenville, Charleston, Wesleyan). I wish that Wesleyan and UC would realize there's a better fit for them elsewhere...

Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread
[QUOTE=BlueBlood;2051412]I just looked at it. Not sure that it would impact us much one way or the other. One less trip to that side of the conference would probably actually benefit UIndy and BU.
I think it actually may indeed have an impact on the GMAC. St Joe closes and WJ drops to D3. Wouldn't you think that would use some sort of impact on UINDYs thinking and maybe even BU? Certainly a long shot and I am not at all convinced that what the poster stated actually happened but it does make for interesting discussion.

I also just looked at the MEC board. Overall, I think that one is a little more intriguing. Infighting among different members' posters - which I realize doesn't necessarily mean infighting among the actual members. Nonetheless, some of the issues addressed are interesting. Looks like Urbana situation and MEC possibly kicking WJU out has some NDC folks a little anxious. Minus Urbana and WJU, NDC's island would certainly get a little more remote.
Interesting CU mention too. I have heard similar versions of that before. Not sure of how things actually happened "behind the curtain", and probably never will. But, I like the way it turned out for CU.
BTW - now all of the sudden the MEC posters seem pretty solidly unified in wanting AB. A year or two ago, they were scoffing at AB.Last edited by BlueBlood; 05-19-2017, 10:26 AM.

KWC lost to Northwood today. Wesleyan left some runners stranded. No big surprise as to that outcome.
Tomorrow's game will be against Bellarmine. That is a winnable game for the Panthers. They split with Bell in the regular season at Knights Field. Alderson Broaddus also won a game against Bellarmine. That's an elimination game for the loser of that one. Should be a good game.

Originally posted by BlueBlood View PostEver since buckeye posted this, I've been wondering if there might be coordination between Ashland and UIndy regarding a move (for one or both). These two schools have a long history together (GLVC, Heartland, MIFC, GLIAC football/swim/lax).
Could Ashland influence UIndy to go GLIAC? Its not any better geographically for them, but it does bring a "swimming with the big dogs" element. Ashland posters seems to indicate that Ashland embraces the "we are okay being a GLIAC island" in OH role. Do they encourage UIndy to assume a similar role in central IN?
Do both schools look at each other (and maybe Bellarmine) and agree that the G-MAC geography (and sports offered) makes too much sense and they make the G-MAC plunge together?
Either situation is probably less likely to happen than the status quo. However, I have a feeling they have at least discussed it.

Don't remember when that was supposed to happen or if it has already happened. Told that St. Joseph's closing kind of sparked some things on UIndy's campus. That was a while ago at a club volleyball tournament that I was reffing at. Have not heard anything sense.
