Holding became Drury's best defense against him. Unfortunately for Drury the refs picked up on most of them and Rusty did a good job making the free throws.

Saturday will be a tough one. Parkside looked 100% better against Indy than what they did against BU earlier in the season. Verhagan was pretty clutch against Indy. Btw, does anybody know why McCollum did not start. He wasn't even the first off the bench. He didn't look like he was hurt at all once he got in late in first half.

I agree with you. I was concerned at halftime. It looked a lot like the LMU game. We allowed Drury's physicality keep us from getting into our offense. Just as the Knights picked up the intensity on defense, they also made the adjustments on offense. They did a much better job on the boards in 2nd half as well, although who would have thought Alex would get no rebounds

Agree with everything said here about better second half. Troutman was aggressive going to the basket, and he was able to get to the free throw line nearly every time. Earlier in the year he wasn't getting those calls.

He wasn't getting the calls earlier for some reason but I have to say Drury was pretty obvious with the holding this time. They did a lousy job of hiding it.

I was checking on the internet website for the timing of D2 regional tournament games, etc. and found the draft of the packet for regional participants (I think) and the information about practice times, hotels, etc. were written with Louisville and Bellarmine information (they mentioned rooms at the Crowne Plaza out by the airport) and how long it would take to get from the Crowne Plaza to Knights Hall etc. Maybe this was just a draft with the Louisville/Bellarmine info as a "placeholder" - the specific Louisville info was highlighted in green. Maybe it was no more than that but it seems interesting that the draft document was using Louisville/Bellarmine as a "sample" regional packet.

The Regional should be at Bellarmine. I have been saying that for a month. If they let teams bid on the tournament, like in the old days, it would be at the Sportscenter.

That was the story of this year's DU team...play 20 minutes or so of solid basketball, then lose focus for 5-10 minutes and the game is over. I have a feeling you'll see more new guys than just the number of departing seniors on next year's squad. Not enough mental toughness with this group, and Tevin Foster was average at best.

Wow, these announcers on the GLVCSN are obviously UWP guys --- the color guy has the obvious Chicago/Wisconsin accent and they seem to have extensive knowledge of UWP players and team statistics yet very little mention of BU league leading stats etc.

Findlay loses to Ashland. If either Ashland or Lewis are upset winners on Sunday, UWP and Truman will probably be first ones out of the eight. BU will no doubt get to play the eighth seed in first regional game and if either one of those becomes upset winners today, they will most likely be the eighth seed.

                    • Bellarmine named #1 seed and host by NCAA via twitter at 9:15. We find out at 11 the pairings. I doubt that the top 8 teams will change but the seeding might.

Congrats to the guys. Very proud of the great effort this weekend, and the whole season for that matter (on and off the court). Fingers crossed for no injuries and a deep run.

It's an exciting time to be a Knights fan. And it's always nice to have as much support as possible, but now is the time of year when we see the annoying bandwagon jumper fans come on board and say, "I've always loved BU hoops," when the reality is that those types are usually too concerned with whether some prima donna high schooler is going to wind up at UK or U of L to be a "student" for one year.

As far as BU's draw in the regional, there is not really anything to complain about. Parkside will be difficult to beat for a third time but on the flip side the team has to be quite confident that they can beat them. In this case familiarity will be good for BU. The next round would be difficult. KWC is the great unknown of the regional while Quincy possesses qualities that are usually tough on BU's weaker sides. Either one will be a very tough matchup. Of course, most of this is remediated by the fact the games our at Knights Hall. It is spring break, though, so the students will not be there en masse. No problem selling out, however. Sunday's game should see the return of the students.

Beautiful weather in Louisville, since its spring break for BU students the basketball team will hit practice hard this week. While driving my grandchildren home after picking them up from school this afternoon, we spotted Adam Eberhard and Skyler Hunter sitting outside of the QDOBA at Eastern Parkway and Bardstown Rd. eating a late lunch (3:15?) at the outdoor dining area. I'm looking forward to the games this weekend.

I would also like to update everyone on my day. I drove south on the penny and picked me up some goat meat. As I passed Ohio county auto sales i saw some players playing pick up ball and they were shooting 3 pointers
