  • Re: New bellarmine thread

I believe this is a forum to express one's opinion. My opinion is that it was a bad call. I got nothing against someone saying it was the right call, but I don't appreciate u being a jerk by using some euphism to denigrate my opinion without backing it up.

He could win and win early there. And agree would be the best coach in a league full of mediocrity.

Think he would be great but not sure that's what he wants at his age. Might do it though because his son would get BU job.

Foul on rebound was suspect. Cook hit the 3 point shooter, auto-foul.
I remember a sequence in first half BU missed 2 ft ( no diss to BB who was our main O all year), a layup and a front-end. Thought those 5 points are going to cost us.
In post-game Scotty said Adam has not practiced for 2 weeks.... not to mention CC. We could have used CC tonight on Sullivan. Props to Findlay, made plays when down 6 late.
MidWest all hoping Scotty moves on. Thanks Coach D for another great year.

Also, Brent Bach is, by far, most improved player in Scotty Era. Just a tremendous college basketball player. Will be missed!!

Such a great game,, both teams played hard. Refs should never decide the outcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Yeah, wish the season was still going on, but it was a great one, especially considering the injuries to Jenkins and Corbett and Cook being out the first semester. Certainly will miss the seniors, but I'm already looking forward to what the Knight have in store for 2018-19 (man, 2019 sounds so far off).

Heaven help us. I think young Davenport could be a fine head coach one day, but am not sure he's ready for that now, at least at the high D-II level.

Should the unthinkable occur, and Bellarmine soon be in the market for a new skipper, I would think they'd do a national search and hope they would bring in someone with head coaching experience. Heck, bring Todd Lee back to the Commonwealth.

I was thinking of Todd Lee before I read that statement. If BU could match his current salary and improve upon it is doubtful, though. I wouldn't want to coach under Dan Majerle. However, Colangelo has more money than satan and I'm sure Todd is paid well. Lee has to be itching to be a head coach again, though. GCU is a for profit school. Todd could be looking for a place to send his boys to college in the near future and his wife is from Evansville. Who knows?

Explain. Coach told his players to foul on the final play (2.5 sec left and Findlay not in the bonus). Players did but fouled on the shot instead of on the floor. It was clearly a foul and the ref has no option but to make the call. To say otherwise means the other team has no chance to score late in a game like that under that situation.

Knight players were told to foul on the inbounds play with 2.5 sec left as UF was not in bonus. They just couldn't get the foul done on the floor. BU got more than its share of calls, but to say the refs "inserted themselves" at the end suggests they should stop making calls?

If you are interested in seeing the foul on Coles, take a look at this photo snapped at the moment that Kimbrough crashes over the back of Coles, who had established rebound position. No way this should have been a foul on Coles. 2 of the 3 ref's were GLVC officials.
