He also quarterbacks the football team: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5245497...24dd1654baf2f5. Admittedly he was a different type of player, but I remember Whitehead formerly played football, and that pickup certainly worked out well for us.

Supposedly Wright State, Liberty, Tusculum, and Campbellsville (among others) are also interested.

Relatively common surname, but wonder if he's any relation to the aforementioned superstar Braydon?

The success of Dowe and Hobbs in the European Pro leagues just reaffirms my feelings of amazement at the inability of D1 coaches to recognize the unbelievable talent guys like those two. The Bellarmine basketball legacy is much richer because of their short sightedness so I guess I am grateful for that.

There are a few guys on the current roster that could play overseas.

I hear ya. Scotty does such a great job of getting area guys with low-to-mid D-I offers to stick around and pursue a championship in front of friends and fam.

Not surprising, given similar content in the existing Vision 2020 plan and the comings-and-goings in the GLVC, but the BU Strategic Plan Steering Committee has an athletics work group "charged with reviewing our conference affiliation as well as a review of our division."

It appears that there is some increase in urgency with the appointment of the committee, albeit an increase from zero urgency to a little bit of urgency. I had no problem with zero urgency.

I think Bell needs a work group to decide how many work groups they should have.

                  Ain't that the truth.

Ha. Maybe they'll set up a committee to look into that, of course making sure said committee is "diverse," "inclusive," etc.

I think they need a work group on how many staff people (administrators) they got as well. Fill that with all staff people and they can continue to grow the administration to the point of being 2 or 3 times more than the faculty. Never understood what all these administrators are needed at colleges (high schools, too) Main reason tuition keeps going up and up.

Seems to me that Be!larmine is right where they should be, but what do I know?

I hear ya. Can't complain. The conference keeps moving farther and farther from L'ville, though; so I can see them at least considering the G-MAC or a move to D-I, especially if USI and/or UIndy bolts.

Following the D-I lacrosse program is fun, even if they are very average. And I get sick of explaining how the BU hoops program is "de facto" low D-I. Although we've already beaten that dead horse on here in years past, I'm one of those who's not opposed to looking into a move to D-I for all sports (presuming they don't try to add football too, which would be insane even if non-scholarship FCS).

Unfortunately I think the real inquiry is whether to move to D1 and what conference in it to try to become a member. I have stated many times here how much I dread that move so I won't beleaguer my fellow posters with that rant again. I have a feeling that in the next five years they will make the jump, but I am a bit of a Negative Nellie.

To add to what has already been said, I think when USI and/or UIndy bolt then BU's hand will be "forced" to make a move, and probably to D1. I like things where they are personally but I'll stay a BU fan for life no matter where they end up.

Agree that will always be fan but sure would like to remain a fan of a team that is vying for a national championship every year than one who waits five to ten years for a NCAA tourney appearance only to see them lose first game.
