Probably a silly question but what is the incentive to move to D1? Is there more money to be made? Is it a status thing? Gotta admit that I don't really get it.

Yes, money and prestige. It cost more to be d1 but the monetary rewards are greater as well.

Anybody been to Knights Hall to see the team workout this Summer?

I'm hoping to make it some time this week; does anyone know when they will be playing?

Haven't had the chance to see the guys scrimmaging or anything, but BellarmineGrad Jr. is currently attending one of the BU hoops camps. Members of the squad are all over the place helping; I am trying to keep track of who is there, in the hope of confirming at least some of the roster for next season.

The players are sometimes split with the kids between Knights Hall and the SuRF, so I have not seen everyone. Jenkins, Corbett, Cook, and Ramser are there. Think I saw Eberhard, Schurfranz, Penny, Penn, Younker, and Tipton. Hoping to see Weyer, among others, as I definitely want him back.

Not sure if Jenkins being there tells us if he will be playing this season or not. Probably means he is in school, but even if he was not physically able to play, Scotty could still hire him to work at the camp. Weyer remains the person I am most curious about.

No indications on his Twitter feed.

Heh -- yeah, I've been checking that too this summer and only learned that he's a Reds fan (not surprising since he's from NKY).

Me too. I'm guessing that Scotty discourages discussing anything team related on twitter. Of course, if he is no longer on the team, Scotty's wishes would be irrelevant, therefore his lack of discussion on twitter is 100% proof positive that he is still with the team.

Curious who the non GLVC teams will be on the schedule.

I assume that there will be a return game to LeMoyne. I also know they were talking with KWC about a game. We played Barry and Lynn last year, but I don't think the Florida Schools need to offer a return in order to get teams to come down there.

He does still list "Louisville" as one of his two locations (the other being Ft. Thomas, presumably around home).

Saw Claycomb out there today, among others.

Uh oh, hadn't heard this about Penny:

But hopefully (for his sake, not just the program's), things are cool:

Thought I saw him out at BU this week.

I'll reserve judgment until there is a resolution, but at the very least it sounds like he was hanging with some bad actors.

                                FYI
I have it from a reliable source, Ben is working at home in Northern Ky this summer, which is why he isn't working the camps. The Penny incident was a senior prank and the BU staff does not consider it serious.
