  • Re: New bellarmine thread

Late last night, I was surprised to see that a high school running back in Texas tweeted about getting an offer from Bellarmine:

Looks like he runs track too, so I'm guessing that's the offer, rather than BU secretly recruiting football players:

Note that one of the BU women's basketball assistant coaches follows him on Twitter, for what that's worth.

Heh -- yeah, one would think. Actually don't know much about this Class of '19 kid, who appears to be a 6'4" shooting guard.

P.S. Looks like the "Bash" bit comes from the more formal (and far less entertaining) "Sebastian."

More fodder for the "virtual water cooler discussions" that we have here:

With the addition of two new Missouri schools to the GLVC next year, it leaves BU, USI, Indy and Lewis on the outer reaches of the conference (as if that wasn't already true). Travel budgets for the Missouri schools (I include Quincy, McKendree and UIS in that description) will benefit. St. Louis area schools will have a short ride to a number of road games.

Yes, especially with those additions to the GLVC, it will be interesting to see what (if anything) is released by that "work group" committee tasked with looking at conference affiliation and NCAA level.

Net plus for Bellarmine, actually. Lindenwood is a shorter drive for BU than Parkside, and Southwest Baptist is just 30 miles north of Drury.....and BU apparently never again has to make the Drury road trip anyway. ;)

                        OK, this made me laugh.

Yes it is the conspiracy that keeps BU in the conference! I started of course a couple of years ago when I mistakenly stated that it seemed liked DU had not come to Louisville in awhile. Maybe the Commish read my post and believed it...

This is a more educated ranking, although WLU is still overrated, as is Nova Southeastern.

Probably helps even out that BU pod or division or whatever is much tougher than DU's. Not that it is intended to be fair.

Picture on Scotty's twitter feed of players in front of some grade schoolers. Tyler J looks like he has put his weight back on, Adam sporting a buzzcut.

Seems to me like there has to be some redshirts this year.........17 on roster.
