Scotty is the best marketer you could ask for, but it seems to me that those on the administrative side just kind of cruise along as in the past. So I worry about when Coach D hangs it up, and not for on-the-court reasons. If Doug Davenport is the "coach in waiting," he's an awesome guy, and I think would be a solid coach, but I don't think he'd "move the marketing needle" like his father (and, frankly, I don't know who would).
I think the no call back is due to the season tix being sold out. Now they should be doing the polite thing and calling the people back to tell them that as to keep the people as fans and hopefully future tix holders.

      Questions arising from the game:

      (1) Was that the expected starting lineup? I will be surprised if it is, mostly because I did not anticipate that Jenkins would play the 1. Jenkins looked good and did a bunch of great things. His 5 TO's, however, were crushing.
      (2) Were Parker Chitty's relatively few minutes an anamoly?
      (3) Palombizio sitrep?
      (4) Was A.E.'s willingness to take some tough shots (at least 3 of them bad shots)an indication that he will be more aggressive in looking to score this season?
      (5) Will anybody besides Eberhard and Weyer make a 3?

I suspect that CJ Fleming is going to see an ever increasing roll on this team. It's not just his smart play, I also think he can score in more ways than the other guards.

Huh? They should sell more season tickets. We all know that there will be seats available, and they should do what they can do fill 'em.

Season tix have been sold out the last couple of years. Now several of them are corporate owned and they don't use every night but I believe there are no season tix to be had.

            1. Not sure if that lineup will be the same, Scotty always uses different lineups for exhibitions. But, I think the answer to this question is probably going to depend on number 2.
            2. I was surprised by Chitty's lower minutes as well (although he did turn over the ball the first time down the court.) I am thinking Scotty went with a bigger lineup to match up with UofL better and he had 4 seniors in the lineup (4 seniors who could all be starters, though.) There is something to be said to having Ramser starting. I just think he needs Chitty in there at point though. Jenkins was solid but I think he better at the 2.
            3. On the video broadcast Kent Taylor and Jody Demling were saying that PAL has a stress fracture and the team is letting him rest through the exhibitions. Hopefully, he will be ready by the home opener at the end of November.
            4. I think Ebbie realized no one else was going to shoot the ball there in the beginning. He had the team's only field goals for the first 12 minutes of the game.
            5. Let's hope so! I think Fleming will be the guy, although I would like Alex to start shooting the open ones. If Ramser could get some confidence back, he could actually make them because he really has the best form.

That's weird. They shouldn't cap season ticket sales -- one would think they'd want every ticket sale they could get.

No big surprise, but coaches poll ranks Knights #1. We have been over ranked in the past, but from what I can tell, as far as the competition, the coaches are right. I still don't understand WLU being that highly ranked. I don't think they are the best team in their conference.

Article has some major errors. Two of the PSAC players the author mentions .... aren't in the league anymore. One graduated and is in the NBA Development league and one transferred to the CIAA. Pretty sloppy work.

Imho it is the Wlu style of play that is the equalizer against teams with more individual talent. You have to value every possession against them and withstand the mental and physical pressure. Also, everyone is deadly from 3. Interesting that two former Wlu players are listed in article as potential players of the year - justice and Dennis.
Wlu has a lot of respect for Bellarmine.

I respect WLU, but not enough to rank them second in the country with absolutely no objective evidence that it is warranted. They have most of their team back from last year, with the huge exception of their best player, which is good, I guess. The problem is that they lost their first round tournament game by 32 points. Even if they had their entire team back, there would be little reason to rank them second in the country. D2 fans know that the voters in the preseason polls know next to nothing about teams outside their region and vote on name recognition. By the time the season ends, the poll has at least some validity, but until the voters get more info, its silly. Bellarmine being ranked #1 falls into the category of a blind squirrel finding a nut.

WLU is not the only over-rated team in the poll. Lincoln Memorial does not have anything close to what they had last year. NWMS does not either.

In any case, I wish WLU well and look forward to the day that BU plays them in the tournament, not because I think BU will blast them, but because it would be a fun, interesting game.

If Bellarmine had played Wabash back in the non-PC Dark Ages when I was an undergrad, we loyal denizens of the student section would've had a lot of fun with the fact that the opponent is an all-male college.

Will not be able to attend the game tonight but looking forward to hearing about how the Knights match up against a much different opponent, and mainly how the offense looks with the size advantage the Knights will have much of the season

Knights did ok tonight, rebounding suffered some...lots of guys got to play. Eberhard, Weyer and CC were looking to take more shots, but the minutes played were really spread out. Corbett got hot in second half. The freshmen looked better than I anticipated. BU front line guards didn't have great game but it was good to see Jenkins healthy and playing aggressively. Looks to me like Dylan Penn is going to be a good one and will deserve some playing time.
