    That's good news for conferences like the NSIC where the empty weeks for all the teams are strewn throughout the season. That should make it easier to schedule non-conference games.

      Glad to read this. Much easier to find a Week Zero game that the open week that the Mavs have for Oct 19th.

        Talk about screwball wording. Couldn't they just say that one can play starting on the specific date?

        Still, on the surface it does sound great, but with so many schools stating how tight funding is, who's going to step up and pay for an additional week? Taking the costs out of the picture, it's great. I just wonder how many will participate.

            Might just mean that other schools will have to pay out just a little bit more to cover costs, but still can be done now.

                Of course not... It's the NCAA, which is run by lawyers who get paid by the word (and you wonder why college sports is so expensive).
