Thank you. Now, you can get Brent Holsclaw to send you messages on Facebook. He has contacted me by message a couple of times wanting me to accept his friend request. First of all, he is not my friend. I have never talked to him. I only know of his coaching record and have watched him coach games at KWC. Brent, I merely pointed out your record, and I also was stating what many of the fans wanted to see happen. I did not cause you to resign. You could have stayed at KWC for another 25 years, probably. Much of what I said was simply facts. However, the football program will not see any significant improvement for probably three years. I am not your enemy, Brent Holsclaw. I have been asked to resign from several professional positions and I survived. You currently secured a job in the private sector before you resigned. I never had that luxury. I appreciate your contributions to the KWC football team as a player, but if you have a problem it is not with me. Perhaps, you should contact other people who could advise you as to why people like me felt the way they did, and I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

On numerous occasions on this board other posters have voiced their dissatisfaction with the KWC football program. I simply got tired of watching the program get beat consistently on a regular basis and often times by large margins. If your coaching abilities were more adequate, I am sure you could have procured another coaching job at another college or at least at a high school program if you met the academic qualifications. I wish you well. I really do, but don't try to intimidate me any further by messaging me on Facebook. Don't tell me to accept your Friend request. You can't anyway, because I have you blocked, and if by some chance you attempt to find where I live and come to my residence, you will be greeted accordingly. May God Bless you in your future endeavors.

      Re: KWC Football

The only current 2018 listing for Kentucky Wesleyan Football on the Official website of Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics is the Schedule for 2018. There is no official roster out yet, and there is no official Coaching Staff named, as of yet, for this year on the Official Site of Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics. We know Coach Taurean Smith will be the Interim Head Coach for this season and we know the schedule, but that's all we know officially. Their first game is on September 1st. The recruits for 2018 have already been announced, but that was before the Head Coach resigned. How many of those players come into the program is anybody's guess. Who knows? Coach Smith may have a complete team, but my guess is that he is still looking for replacement players while getting his practices organized and scheduled. I could be wrong, but there has to be some truth to that statement.

Well, the Panthers won one at home against Coach John L. Smith's KSU Thoroughbreds, 19-13. Coach Smith has dropped quite a bit in his college coaching career since leaving the University of Louisville job. Kentucky State was the first team Wesleyan ever played against in the modern football era back in the early 1980's. They played KSU on the football field at Owensboro Senior Hgh School and KWC got stomped. So, the Panthers stand at 1-2. KSU is 0-3. Good for Coach Smith. The search will still be on for a new head football coach after this season. However, interim Head Coach Taurean Smith might land a head job somewhere else if he can win four more games. He will definitely find a coaching job somewhere. The KWC squad is not quite as large as normal this year. I assume some players were dismissed or left after the last coach resigned.

            Re: KWC Football

Wesleyan has gotten hammered the past two games. However, Hillsdale and ODU are probably the two best teams in the league. To say this year's team does not play well on the road is an understatement, but they lost at home to Findlay by 50 points in the first game of the season. I don't expect them to win at Alderson Broaddus either. AB will play KWC tough at their place. I hope the new head coaching hire can do something to make this program respectable. They play hard at times, but they just don't have enough of the tough and durable small college football players needed to win tough games.

My Battlers beat your Panthers today, 51-7. I expected a pretty close game. Great job AB.

Let's be classy. This was the Founder's Cup game. These two institutions weathered some tough times to get this conference where it is today. KWC was improved this year. It just didn't show today. Not that it matters, but I actually thought KWC might win coming in today.

What? There was nothing un-classy with my post. But I went back and changed whooped to beat because you got all touchy about it. But I bet the folks at KWC aren't offended by the word whooped. The football season is over...on to basketball.

I am not offended. I was surprised KWC won three games this season. The search is officially on for a New Football Head Coach, and I bet they bring in the best they can, or should. If they are going to spend money on anything, Wesleyan needs to spend money on the best football coach they can get. That program can generate money if they can get people out to Steele Stadium. I can be almost certain that next year's team will be better. Wesleyan has a short list now. Every program that needs a new head coach is going through this same situation. Wesleyan will name a new coach as soon as they sign him, probably. It would be nice to have a coach with a well known name in this region. A well known coach, in the southern Indiana and west Kentucky area, would generate more fans.

VERY GOOD HIRE! Craig Yeast is the best football coaching hire ever made at Kentucky Wesleyan! I am very impressed! He is a former University of Kentucky, NFL and CFL Player. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the program. He will do well. Coach Yeast will bring in players like KWC has never had before.

New KWC Head Football Coach Craig Yeast was introduced today in a press conference. What strikes me the most about Coach Yeast is his youthful appearance. He looks like he could still be playing college football and probably could. He is very articulate and seems to be the type of coach that is all about business. He is going to make sure this team is visible in Owensboro and the region. My guess is he will be recruiting the best players he can from Kentucky and with his name and connections he will bring in the best D2 players possible for the KWC football program. He also is going to have a disciplined team because his life is disciplined and he knows what it takes to win. He stated in no uncertain terms that his team will win. And within two to three years they will be winning. Here is a link to his press conference today. The actual introduction is almost twenty minutes in, so you will need to scroll the video to get to his intro.

Let's hope that everything goes great for him. I think they found a WINNER.

I think they did too. The team will be vastly different next season. They may have a winning season or they may not, but they will win in due time. Coach Yeast wants to compete for a G-MAC championship. I would venture to say that he is evaluating recruits and will start signing next semester. KWC has never had a coach like Craig Yeast.

It is hard to believe that I have been posting on this Board for almost 8 years. It will be nice if other KWC fans got excited about the football team and started posting as well.

I'm thinking about asking my son to transfer to KWC. They will be a special team, Coach has been a winner every where he went. Winners produce winners, especially when the coach is hungry. He'll be there for about 3 years and move up. You heard it here first. But the ground work will be laid for continued success.

It is a good job. I don't know how you compare college football coaching jobs other than with money. I would like to see them be able to at least compete with good teams and be able to stay within a decent range of points when they play upper division programs, which they have played before with devastating results and should continue because of the payout and experience. Whether he only stays three years is not for me to say. It depends on his contract. There is not a lot of pressure at KWC. He could really put the program on the map in Kentucky, and that is what I hope he does. His priority should be to promote the college and the football program and he will. He has already said as much. There are only two NCAA Division II programs in Kentucky and KWC has the best in the state. That is a fact.

Eastern Kentucky got a ton of exposure when they were in Division II in Kentucky and were winning big. I am not saying KWC will ever be a program like the one EKU had. EKU had a lot more money to spend on their program because EKU is a state school.
