Frostburg State just took a Charleston team to the woodshed ... a Charleston team that scored 50+ on Notre Dame in a loss.

Notre Dame still has Frostburg State and Findlay left on the schedule. Things could get interesting.

I can understand the moving down a division having to sit out the postseason for X amount of years. But moving up and having to sit out is hard to understand. In a normal world they are supposed to be outmanned so why wouldn't they be allowed to compete? Dumb rule.

The same order as AFCA just a few notches down for everyone but NDC.

Only one conference has 4 teams in the Top 25; although, KU or WCU will probably be out of there in 2 weeks.

While we all acknowledge the polls are simply window dressing I do find it odd Kutztown isn't getting much love.

The Golden Bears have two huge road wins yet are the lowest ranked of all the undefeated teams. In fact there are even a few one-loss teams ahead of them.

If all stays the same the initial regional ranking may tell a different story.

The coaches moved up a team from 11 to tie Slimey. Interesting.

You guys have a strange fascination with the Mountain East.

Some of us are paying close attention to playoff implications. :)

Please tell me the difference in polls. Which poll does NCAA used to select from? Thanks in advance.

Neither. They are for fans and media.

The NCAA has a selection committee.

The Top 7 in SR1 (per the committee) make the playoffs. SR1 is comprised of the PSAC, MEC, NE10 and GMAC. The top seed gets a bye in Round 1.

Often times the actual Regional Rankings will be very different than the window dressing national polls. The regional rankings use metrics based on categories. The national polls are, to a degree, a popularity contest. Kutztown could actually be ahead of both SRU and ND in the regional rankings based off their road wins at Cal and Shep.

SRU would have to lose twice for IUP to pass them in the playoff seedings since they have the head to head win.

If they'd lose to Cal and then in the State Game and IUP finishes with one loss as expected ....

IUP wins out they probably get a 4th seed worst case and a home game in Round ? 1. Lots left to play out in the next month. Only thing they control is their (coach speak) four games remaining. Win out and see where the chips fall. Win out and they could get higher than the four seed ... but need a little help.

If ND loses and IUP/Kutztown finish the year with one loss how do you see things materializing?

IUP's SOS is not that great, New haven looks to only be about a 0.500 team, and the PSAC east had a small advantage on crossover games. Those last crossover games will be important for IUP.
