  • Re: Slippery Rock at Notre Dame College

NDC has made their entire season on grinding out close games. This shouldn't be a shock to the Rock. That said, I do think that NDC gets shellacked next week (as would Rock).

Well, late third, if you miss, and you still only need a TD to win, make it, and Chapla going for a tie, from 46 yds on 4th and 4 from the 31.

What I'm curious to see is if NDC builds on this and becomes a yearly player in SR1. Or do they follow Concord's blueprint post-2014 (cumulative record: 11-32 since) and completely disappear?

Regardless, congrats to the Falcons. Well-earned region title.

And he has hit on a 51 yarder this year. In a tight game there isn't any difference between being 4 points down or 5 points down. The only risk if you miss is that if NDC scors another TD you might have to convert a 2-pointer then to tie the game but I think you take that risk.

It's an interesting debate, that's for sure. Hindsight is always 20/20, but for one of the few times in history, I agreed with the call Lutz made there. Looking back on it, as aggressive as he usually is (which is a main gripe I have with him), I'm really surprised he did not go for 2 there.

I think so, they are very young and they do not have to deal with Shepherd anymore.

As many mistakes as THE ROCK made (penalties and fumbles)they still had two chances to win it.

Spot on. It's the proverbial microscope type loss. It was a great season. The other big play was the NDC INT in the first half, QB underthrew a wide open WR in the EZ. Would of been 14-10 there. The last play of 1st half hurt. Great season Rock!!

Congratulations to Slippery Rock on a great season. When the regular season ended, there was much doubt as to whether The Rock belonged in the playoffs, but you showed everyone that you did.

19 carries for the best back in the Region needs to be questioned that's a real problem in that game, 19-165 should of been 35 for 250....just sayin

I agree to certain extent, especially when Lutz in the pregame basically predicted whichever RB had most yards his specific team would probably win. But Hills did have 3 catches as well; making his total touches 22, but McLaughlin touched it 36 times; but NDC had it 7 minutes longer; ROCK D was not good on third down to get Falcons off field and get Hills and offense back on field.

Yeah. They are going to get stomped by Valdosta State.

Truer words have never been spoken on this board.

Best this region can be is #4 and when the regions align correctly in the post season sneak in to the Natty, only to get slaughtered.
