  • Clarion kicks a 31 yard field goal as time expires to get the 23-21 win over Mercyhurst. It simply cannot be overstated the impact that Monica has made in just a few short months for Clarion. This is a night and day difference from a team last year that looked consistently lost and wasn't anything close to competitive. Really amazing stuff and there might be another win or two on the schedule. Has to be a huge benefit to recruiting as the culture change jumps off the page and they have a really good staff assembled as well.

No he hasn't, but they were doing that great against those two before Franklin came, either.

They'll have a good shot with Boro next week.

Actually they played 2 Freshmen QBs, and ESU had no answer for the more mobile of the two...

Having an elderly coach slow to change up anything didn’t help….

That's an interesting comment about a coach who won more big time college football games than any other coach in history.

Yes nice to listen too. Color man sounds like he knows nothing about the PSAC and IUP personal that’s the only downfall. Lead announcer a bit critical over a non issue was going on and on about Brown in the game fielding a punt in 4th quarter. A fair catch is usually safe there not not pouring it on relax dude. Starters played 1 series on offense in second half. Tort could of put up 70 and Sexton could of thrown for 500 guys WIDE open all day and Sexton never touched 1 time on 18 throws.

                  • Seton Hill took Cal to the wire last night. They actually forced a punt with 3 minutes left with good field position and a chance to tie it up but took a roughing the punter penalty that iced the game 21-14. Seton Hill can play some defense when they want to but the Cal decline might be real

JoePa at his peak was one of the best, and I'm old enough to remember him as a young and innovative coach. His 4-4 defenses terrorized teams during his first few years at the helm. That said, his reputation lost some luster because he probably should have retired years earlier. And I never thought, and still don't, think Penn State fans have ever realized how much more difficult it is to play in a Power 5 conference, where you can't always pick and choose where your "big games" will fall, as opposed to being an independent.

New guy at Clarion looks as if he's made a difference for you. Can't say the same for Lock Haven so far.

When did Penn State stop being dominant nationally? In the 2000's...and he was well past retirement age.

JoePa was 13-22 vs The Overrated State University and Meatchicken after joining the BIG.

They basically took his lunch...out recruited him and blew past him when Penn State should be the top program in the BIG. Game Day in Columbus and Ann's Bush doesn't compare to Happy Valley..but the product doesn't measure up to it.

Franklin can't fix the problem either. He should go be on The Vest's staff.....

...like in the 90's and not aim to stay coaching until your 90's.
