  • SR1 Regional Rankings (Nov. 10, 2025)

Kutztown (10-0 D-2 Overall Record; 10-0 D2 In Region Record)
    Virginia Union (9-1, 9-1)
    Johnson C Smith (9-1, 9-1)
    IUP (7-2, 7-2)
    California (7-3, 7-3)
    Frostburg (8-2, 8-2)
    Assumption (7-2, 7-2)
    Fayetteville State (6-3, 6-3)
    Slippery Rock (6-3, 6-3)
    Charleston (7-3, 7-2)

Depending on how the NE-10 chooses their automatic qualifier - though, I'd think that head-to-head would be the first tie-breaker - Bentley might end up supplanting Assumption as the NE-10's lone playoff representative.

Bentley has already clinched the auto bid. Assumption is likely in as at-large with a win over West Chester.

8 teams get into the playoffs this year, not 7. So someone else would have to leapfrog Assumption and I don't think that happens unless Assumption loses.

Fayetteville is the team on the bubble, they need an upset to happen ahead of them in order to get in. Rock probably can't leapfrog Assumption because they play 2-8 Bloomsburg, so their SOS is going to take a hit. If Charleston was 9th maybe they would have a shot to leapfrog Fayetteville with a win this week against WV State, but from 10th that feels like too high of a leap.

Fayetteville appears to be on the outside looking in since they're idle this week. I figured it was a long-shot for the NE-10 to get two teams in, but the MEC seems a little weaker this season.

I just seen the latest regional rankings. I wonder how Cal could get it? I didn't think that they had that great of a season.

It doesn’t look like anybody outside the top 3 really set the world on fire. And when you consider the PSAC West had 6 win teams in Edinboro and Clarion in addition to the big 3 plus Cal has 2 really good OOC wins, their metrics were probably really strong.

Just wondering as I look at the rankings. What regions would IUP play if we made it out of Region 1?

I think we have a chance at making it, at least out of Region 1.

                Take a chill pill lol

One week at a time. Every game will be tough.

Unless a major upset occurs, whoever wins SR1 will end up playing on the road at Ferris State or Harding in the semifinals. If one of them loses then Kutztown would have a good chance of hosting a semifinal if they won SR1. If IUP wins SR1 then they would almost certainly be going on the road to one of the other SR champions.

That would be tough. Those are two of the better D2 programs. It is weird not to see Grand Valley on the regional rankings.

Cal is 3-1 vs. teams currently in the regional rankings: Wins over #6 Frostburg, #9 Slippery Rock and #10 Charleston and a loss to #4 IUP in the Coal Bowl.

The four super region winners are "re-seeded" ahead of the semifinals, but I would guess IUP would draw either Ferris (SR3) or Harding (SR4) depending on how the brackets play out (likely Ferris because the Bulldogs have that win over Pitt State to start the season, but Harding played no non-conference games because of the GAC's silo scheduling scheme).

I wouldn't be so sure about getting out of the region, presuming IUP draws Cal in either of the first two rounds. I think we all know crazy things always seem to happen in that rivalry.

I'd still be shocked if Kutztown doesn't roll through the region. Barring injury, there isn't another team in Region 1 I think on their level this season.

With a 35-27 Score against Bloomsburg and a VUU team going to the elite 8 I wouldn't be so sure of that and JCSU beat and Valdosta Team who has played better of late. Just saying. Games are played on the Kutztown and VUU in the Regional Final will be a great game especially how Kutztown handled them in the First Round 2 years ago. Those guys don't lose to a team back to back.

Well if we're gonna judge a team by one week, then VUU might not be as amazing as some are hyping them up to be. They lost to a Edward Waters team that finished at .500 and had to be carried by one player against a 6-4 Virginia State squad. We can either nitpick one or two weeks that isn't indicative of the whole season or we can judge the season as a whole. Also, the last time they played each other was 2 years ago. To say "they don't lose to a team back to back" is weird because since then multiple players (and probably some coaches) have come and gone. It's not like the two teams already played each other this season.
