Well then look at the first series.. 3rd and long and it was a fairly vanilla draw. And I didn't see much creativity. GV pressured Mitchel a ton, but it seemed like it was just chuck it to a player running down the field. If he could outrun the D, fine, I get I have a bias, but it just didn't seem to be up to TA's standards. Of course the penalties didn't help much. And I wonder why he pulled Gulker after he seemed to move the O much better than MM.
These are just some of my thoughts. I wonder what the Ferris contingent felt. They see Ferris week to week.

Let me first acknowledge that I'm being an armchair qb and 20/20 hindsight stuff yada yada yada. Reality is TA has won more games in real life than I have on Madden over the years, but a number of things stuck out to me.
Honestly, I understand wanting to get your athletes on the field, but sticking a TE in to assist with the pass rush isn't unheard of. Maybe a few more screens to the RB or WRs. I think the going 4-5 wide and blocking 6 with 5 for most of the game isn't going to cut it. It hasn't for the last couple of years. Especially when your RBs are 5'6 170lbs trying to block a LB with a full head of steam. We're putting up good passing yards but we're not controlling the game. I seen 1 inside zone play up the middle to a RB. Got 6-7 yds and didn't see it again. Have to start using the RB on traditional runs up the middle (zone, wedge, trap) to at least slow down the rush and make them respect the position. And not doing it running option, at least put an H-Back in there and don't let the DEs have a straight shot to the backfield. They were screaming off the edges with little to no resistance. I mean there was no respect to any play action that we showed.
I think Gulker is still hurt. He gutted it out but he was a shell of himself as a runner. But, the fact that he is a runner I think opened up the passing game a little more maybe. The blitzes weren't as intense possibly due to having someone spy him in case he took off.
Defensively, GV receivers just outplayed our DBs. And the run scheme was exactly how you attack Ferris defense. They just outnumbered us at the point of attack and we didn't have an answer. I mean there were a couple of holding calls that if they weren't called way more damage would have been done on the ground. We run a 6-1/4-3 however you want to call it. You place a TE & Wing on one side, use the RB as a lead blocking back and run outside zone with the QB...same thing with do with Gulker except with bigger personnel.
Add in a pick 6, onside kick, 8 sacks, 16 penalties, 4 fumbles...Just have to tip your hat to the GV coaches and players on this one. They won every facet. We looked under duress both offensively and defensively the whole game.
All that being said, when we see you in the playoffs again on your home field, be ready to give up your lunch money.Last edited by DawgUp; 10-15-2023, 06:05 AM.

I would sign up for it if I could get just GVSU or just GLIAC games. But it's more a month than every other streaming service, and I don't care about Delaware football or anything else they have on there besides GVSU and the GLIAC so it isn't worth the money. Just determined to screw over fans who live outside Grand Rapids

I truly don’t understand how people say it’s not worth it. Sure, for some schools it used to be free, but that’s not how it is anymore. $5 average per game is more than a fair price.
Side note: Cancel before the subscription auto renews, and Flo offers to continue the subscription for only $15.
so yeah, I don’t understand why people complain. This isn’t screwing fans at all, I see it as the opposite. It gives me the opportunity to watch Delta State. I gladly pay $15-$20 a month during the football season to watch Delta State, and other games on Flo. If it helps Delta make a little money, even better.Last edited by CalifOKRA; 10-15-2023, 10:17 AM.RESPECT THE STATESMEN, FEAR THE OKRA!

And it's not more a month than every other streaming service. Hudl which is what the MIAA uses is $30 a month.

Flo does a good job - I live in FL and it’s a lot cheaper then flying up every weekend - lol - I pay the annual fee of $150 and I can watch all GV and GLIAC sports throughout the year - now, I admit I don’t watch much of the other sports but on occasion I do - I certainly check out other GLIAC football teams and I watch some Gulf South football now and then too - it’s not a bad offer

It’s nice to see the stands full.
At Valdosta State games, we average about 500 fans in the stands; High School football is king,
Just pathetic.
