I'm betting that gets turned around this year.

Bingo... we missed AD's influence on the line play as much or more than anything last year. Special backs can hide some of those deficiencies at times, but with the amount of injuries to that position group, it became a lot less special. It should be a strong group this year, and that alone will help, but of course, we're hopeful that the line play is improved as well. My concern is that with so many good backs, that it'll be hard for anyone to get in a rhythm and separate from the others. It's awesome to have depth, but are there enough balls to go around? I don't want to sound like I'm complaining...after last year's debacle, it's a good problem if it is even a problem, but it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

That is a distinct possibility. Nobody asked RW that question, not that he would have told us much, but it wasn't even hinted at.

As far as RW (gosh i feel like a bearcat fan now because IUIFE which of course stands for I Use Initials For Everything) we will see if there is a significant leap between year 1 and year 2 as a HC. He might be a defensive wizard and able to make a lot more money with a lot less grief for his family in D1 but that doesn't make him a good head coach. Beck has a national championship on his resume and I'm still not sold on him as a great or even good head coach. The next two years will tell for both coaches.. I think Beck is an offensive genius but just because you are good on one side of the ball doesn't mean you can run an entire program.
I think the IUIFE thing comes from having a coach with a hard to pronounce name for years.

I would want the job at West Florida probably first. They could get good quickly. I think Northwest is a top 10 job, but not number 1. It's great for resources, program name, tradition, etc. It's just average for location (although good talent from KC, STL, OMA, Des Moines). It's not Texas or Florida though for location and the town is small. It appeals to some, but not all. West Florida has talent, weather, and the ocean.

Who's seat is warming up at this point in the Season

Robinson-NSU. Maybe they win one game

Schurig-WU. Looking like maybe 5 wins?

OK promise is a free tution program in OK schools for kids that qualify on base of financial need and grades between 8th and 10th grade.

Emporia kills on OK recruiting. Higgins was big time coach when nw OK was killing in naIA and most of coaches in nw part of state ard his players. So his roster 20 to 30 OK kids a year.

Schurig is safe through next season, they've made the post season the past couple years and 5 wins without Peterson is probably an all right season, I think they get to 6 wins anyway.

Concerning to me is the turn down at Emporia, they may not win 3 games this year and with what they have on offense should be much better and after this year will have to replace those returners.

Weimers needs some heat on his seat, but it won't happen.

                              Re: Coaches in the hot-seat

It's all due to QB play. We have a QB that can hit some downfield passes and this offense opens up.

People last year screamed at Rampy for throwing the ball all over the place. Now people are mad at Weimers for running the ball and not establishing a consistent offense.

QB play solves both. We haven't had solid QB play since AA. I think Bradbury could mature into the spot but there will be growing pains. People just need to understand the team we have and expect from it. Games will not be pretty and will not be easy but with this defense all Pitt has to do and not get in its own way.

The games will be easier to watch if you know the skill set we have and not just think we should have an offense that can go up and down the field. We don't have that skill set on offense. It could come but it won't come without some time passing.

I quoted you GT, but really this was a general response, not just to you. :good:

I'm not mad at weimers for running the ball. I'm disappointed in the schizophrenic play calling and lack of sticking with something until they stop it.
