That ship has sailed with this latest move. LWood did not realize how humbling of an experience it would be with the jump up to D2 and the MIAA. And in a down period for the league as a whole historically. Now they can get back their shiny records while fielding the same level of team and feel all good inside. The GLVC will never lend itself to producing nationally relevant programs because the conference is one of the least talented in the nation.

Idk. In a different conf they may be able to string together winning seasons. That would attract more local kids, keep talent in St. Louis, they could be a problem if they built momentum.

Whats the argument against keeping one week for non-conf? Travel, short week, distance expenses?

All due respect, you don't have a clue what you're talking about in regards to Lindenwood's future intentions.

Whether they will or will not compete nationally remains to be seen, but they won't be content simply winning conference championships then getting their butts handed to them in the playoffs. The way their last 2 recruiting classes have played out, they won't be your typical GLVC team. They will still build like an MIAA team because that's the type of team and culture Stugart builds.

Probably. I see a difference though, both on and off the field.

I loved coach Ross, but not sure his coaching style could ever win consistently in the MIAA. Stugart is more focused on building a foundation and culture where winning is a bye product of simply doing things the right way consistently and focusing on the details.

At least I like the flavor.

In related news, couch prices just dropped dramatically in the St Louis area.

If that was reality LWU wouldn't be jumping ship and seeking out inferior competition in relation to the rest of the division. The GLVC is half MIAA rejects. LWood the most recent. LWood is seeking those elusive Ws they thought would come with the initial move to D2.

The NCAA doesn't care - 9-2 in the GLVC = 9-2 in the MIAA in their eyes ...

Not all about football, dude. The GLVC is a better basketball league, and with travel expenses, this makes a LOT of sense f/ L-wood.
