I didn't hear you complain when UNO was added? That expanded the Conference North. If the Conference was sensitive to travel they wouldn't have added UNK or LU. That stretched the Conference West and East.

Conference Carolinas and South Atlantic have the same arrangement. Field Hockey is a SAC sport and Wrestling is a CC sport.
How is the quality of men's soccer in the GAC-MIAA?

I'm also curious what schools people think would be close for the Northernmost schools? Are there some in IA or something?

If travel cost was a primary concern, they would have tried to keep SBU and Lincoln for sure. Probably wouldn't have added the extremes of LWU/Hays or UCO/UNK either.

Iowa has a lot of D3 schools, but Upper Iowa is the only D2 school.

If they're going to keep adding non-football schools, they need to give a BIGGER NCAA revenue share to the institutions that fund football ...

Do they not do tat now? Do football revenues have to be shared with non-football schools?

so much for BBB and his chest-pounding over the MIAA. all done. lincoln, rogers state, newman...hard to be proud of or defend any conference that welcomes in such weakness.

I suggest we, the original, hard-core members, bid the MIAA adieu and form a new league of our own. let's call it the Western Legends Conference. NW, UCM, Western, Southern, Pitt, WU, ESU, FHSU, UNK, UCO, will play the best football in America on the same ground where Frank & Jesse, Custer, Crazy Horse, Kit Carson, Buffalo Bill, and Wild Bill once roamed. later, if need be, we can add strong and respectable programs like midwestern state, west texas and southern colorado (pueblo)

this business of ruining a once-great, once proud conference in 5 easy steps just don't cut it

Maybe a possibility after next year? I think the conference is in a tough position with Lindenwood leaving next year. Hard to adjust schedules without having Lincoln just fill-in for Lindenwood next year.

I THINK it's just shared revenue - not broken down by sports - and divided equally among the membership ...

You're hard to satisfy. Since Lincoln rejoined in 2010 the MIAA has won 4 national championships in football, 2 each in men's and women's basketball and several others in other sports. Lincoln has obviously destroyed the MIAA.

If we're going to allow teams to just leave a la carte, willy nilly - Then Mssu should look into joining the GLVC or GAC for football only ...

And how long do u think those schools will keep it up when they bang thier heads against each other and not make po or win less than 4 games before they bail.

If you don't win fans don't show and your program will suffer. And if you don't make money with football what happens to the rest of your athletics.

What happen to orginal miaa. They left to go have some measure of success. If people don't eat they don't stick around for ever. Ten team super star conference is just not realistic it's a fools dream

Also uco will leave d2. It's just a matter of time nsu leaving only happens after that

Mssu has informally looked into GAC. If uco goes up watch nsu and mssu try for a GAC move
