polls are meaningless, but it does show how stacked SR3 is.
    Time to realign the regions.

Let’s all band together and push Mike Racy to allow non-con games next year!

I would love the opportunity to see UCO trash on some of the lesser Oklahoma schools.

Not going to hurt CO-Mines having two OOC losses against good teams, assuming they win the rest and the RMAC title will probably be the 2 seed in that regional.

Based on the way the last realignment went, all of the top 10 would be in SR3 if they changed it.

I realize this is the football board, but it's also been that way for the Central Region in volleyball for years too. Right now 8 of the top 12 teams in the top 25 are from that region (all NSIC and MIAA teams). Imagine being a borderline top 10 team and being on the bubble of making the postseason!

It's the Individual school Presidents that decide. Everyone definitely needs to be bugging hell out of their respective School administrators.

Keep in mind that every MIAA team and every GAC team will have the exact same SOS. There's no way that 11-0 teams in each conference are ranked three spots apart.

Not sure why it would be so hard to rank the teams like FCS or FBS. Have a power ranking or some type of formula to rank the teams and not separate it out by region. I love that D2 has as many school involved in the playoffs as they do but they just need to come up with a better way of evaluating strength of the teams to get the best teams into the playoffs. IMO

It's not that they can't rank them differently, it's the cost to travel long distances that is the issue. While we all enjoy D2 athletics, it is a niche group and there is not the financial support to do something different even if it meant a better playoff product.

Regions will never be fair-their only reason to exist is to save the NCAA travel money come playoffs. SR3 teams consistently do well in Semis/finals.

e.g. NWMSU is 16-4 in out of region playoff games from ‘98-‘16(10-0 in semi-finals/6-4 in title games) while they’ve lost 15 in region playoff games between ‘84 & ‘21.

Their attempt to fix this has always been to add more PO teams.

There just isn’t really a “good” empirical system. There are too few samples in an unpredictable environment. Committee is the best approach, and really, they need to throw the numbers out. But the people on the committee need to be unbiased as possible and watch a lot of football

On this subject, why does the MIAA continue to allow Lincoln to flounder year after year? Can we really not find a better program to fill out the conference? Why can’t we kick them out and play a non-con in their place!? Honestly.

Is there any sport in which Lincoln is even somewhat competitive in the MIAA?

                              Maybe track and field?

to be honest, we could still drop 3 games and make them non cons. play an actual physical conference championship? instead of just going off of record. I'd say UCO has their non con filled out.
