No that game was Eric Cz's final year and Svoboda's first year, 2010.

I was at the FG game. NW ran a hook & lateral to advance the ball deep into Mule's territory. And then came the kick and from my seat I thought it had sailed wide right. A great win for the Bearcats and a real heart breaker for the Mules. If I remember right, that was a fairly low scoring game, in the teens, I think.

Can't wait for Saturday's game. The Mules air attack will come out smoking. Mules 34 - Bearcats 17.

That same year (2010), UCM played the University of Nebraska Omaha in Warrensburg. One of the greatest comebacks I've ever witnessed. With 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and UNO on top 31 to 7. The Mules defense shut down UNO and the Mules offense took over. UCM quarterback Eric Czerniewski caught fire and reeled off 4 straight touchdowns to win 34 -31. WOW !

Two onside kicks recovered if I remember correctly.

I think 2010 is the year they went to an Illinois D1 and almost won...once again, if I remember correctly!

Yes, 2010 is correct. UCM went to Illinois State and lost 54-53. In listening to the UCM radio broadcast, the officiating got really one sided at the end. The Missouri Valley (homer) referees definitely put their thumbs on the scale at crunch time in favor of Illinois State. Washburn beat Missouri State (35-27) in 2008 and UCM had Illinois State on the ropes in 2010. After that, the D1 Missouri Valley teams stopped scheduling games against teams from the poor little d2 miaa conference. LOL

A little over 24 hrs to the game and NW hasn’t announced a QB yet…Hohensee and Martin both hurt. It may be immaterial. If the NW pass defense doesn’t show a huge improvement Mahomes probably couldn’t out score Josh’s team.

I would love to see UCM play MO State. However, I get it that MSU has nothing to gain, only something to lose.

I also remember listening to that ISU game at the house. What a back and forth.

There should be a 30 For 30 on ESPN about that UCM-UNO game!

not knowing who or what to prep for might be one of our stronger assets this year...

90 degrees at kickoff on Saturday. It's the "Black Out" game for UCM. Mules will be wearing all black uniforms and black helmets. Maybe they should have postponed that promo for a couple of weeks. Or change it to the "White Out" game and the Mules could wear all white. and make NW wear dark green uniforms and helmets. As it stands, the Bearcats will be the one's wearing the color appropriate uniforms and helmets (all white). I don't like the way this is starting out; it smacks of bad ju ju (karma) to me.

I was at the Pitt game last week thinking white home unis would have been a good idea.

While heading home from the PNW on I80 west of Laramie a construction truck caught up with us and motioned to roll our window down-the driver yelled ‘Go Bearcats, I loved Maryville’ and gave us a thumbs up
