The posters who have less than 200 posts and who comment on very specific matters; those are the guys you have to watch out for. This UCM rumor falls in the latter camp, so it's a level above complete baloney.
Sources matter. I read it to laugh at people who have 2/3 of the MIAA moving up. If you say there is smoke to this...

Apparently UCM talked to the OVC back in October. Someone on that aforementioned message board submitted a Freedom of Information Act request about it. Who knows if that goes anywhere though

It sounds like there are plans for UCM to begin construction of a new indoor facility in about a year.

I certainly hope UCM does make the jump to the OVC

Jake Lippe 6-2, 201 WR transferred to UCM from North Dakota State where he played in 50 games and racked up a bunch of receiving yards.
I wondered what happened to him. I grew up just down the road from Hooks in Bowie County. Billy Sims was a Hooks product as well. I watched him play as kid and he was on another level. They have had some talent in Hooks through the years but nothing like Daingerfield.

Earl Campbell was probably the best HS player I ever saw. I watched him play Texas High (Texarkana). Texas High defense all keyed on him all night. It was a really close game but late in the game Earl swept right and then threw a pass back to the John Tyler High QB who was wide open and no one in thirty yards of him and that was the game.

Small world. I remember Dan Blocker aka Hoss Cartwright on Bonanza is buried there.

Played Little League with a kid from DeKalb who told me his Dad play MLB with Pirates Luke Walker.

I didn’t care if he was being truthful or not I just enjoyed playing baseball and he was a good player and fun to hang out with.

Years later I checked out his story turns out Lance was actually was Luke’s son.

DeKalb and neighboring Clarksville have shrunk in population since I was a kid.

Yeah, my dad is buried in the same Cemetery as Dan Blocker and told me he knew Dan growing up. Only have one Aunt still living there.

Who knows what is going on in the athletic department. The changes have driven me away as a 30 plus year season ticket holder and donor. I will still go to the games, but do not agree with the way things are going now. I hear a lot of folks are dropping out and some sponsors too. Not sure if it is the case, but that is the rumor mill.

What all are you referring to?

Coaches leaving and being stated as retirement. Changing a booster program that you have to pay certain threshold amounts to keep tickets that you have had for over 30 years. Not sure I agree with how things go, but hey...I understand that it might have been said some town folks may not like it...that is ok. Crazy that I am not a donor or season ticket holder any more. But I get it...I am a nobody in the grand scheme of things. I hear a lot of boosters and some business owners are not really too happy.

The athletic department was long overdue for an infusion of fresh ideas and new energy. I get your frustration, but I also like the overall direction the new AD has mapped out.

Like I said, I am nobody. There are other things that took place, but I am moving on. I will still support the programs...but that is it. My 30 plus years of support don't mean anything to the new leadership. And that is fine, I have seen the way he rolls and am not interested in it.

Hasn't football, women's bball and baseball coaches all been extended since MH arrived? Kip Janvrin and who else "retired?" recently.

You're on the ground in Warrensburg, so I'll defer to you on some of this, but it's hard to discuss the issues when you won't spell them out in detail.
