We just got beat by 3-scores to a team we beat last year. Easily the worst loss since 2021.

I did expect the D to be better than last year. They have been better at getting after the QB, and pretty darned good overall. I would say that side is close to a wash.Last edited by Predatory Primates; 11-14-2024, 05:52 PM.

Winds around 18-19 mph with gusts up to 35 mph…could be tough on kickers and long passes. The team with the best ground game may had an edge. Maybe high winds will cut down on deep passes on both teams which would lower odds of Runke interceptions & Pitt deep pass completions

Weird week. The TeamKong website is down so some of us can't get fired up over there and then come over here full of piss and vinegar.
Two spoiled ir formerly spoiled fan bases. One fane base has a team that is currently 3rd in the regional rankings but other than brief spurts does not pass the eye test. The other fan base is to the po8nt of silently cheering or maybe even cheering outloud for a loss so they can more than likely move on from their coach.
The teams themselves are a mixed bag. One with a rookie HC and OC who reversed nepotismed his dad as Oline coach. Tje team looked like world beaters in the first game with a convincing win at home vs the team currently 1st in RR. Since then we have lost 2 gsmes both at hime which is very Tom Beckish. The other team has an OC who until game 4 or so was afraid of throwing the ball farrher thsn 5 yards downfield so he relied on an underachieving running game. The NW has improved buth with Brett Favrr I mean Ruhnke back there you are going to get some insanely unbelievable plays and also some What The Bleeps. Both defenses are solid. NW D line is getting after the QB and our Oline has 2 different blocking techniques the "Ole" and the "Look Out" the NW dbacks are good not spectacular. Opposite for Pitt. Other than Berry we have no rush even when we rush 13. Our zone is stupidly soft in the middle but we are usually pretty solid in man D. Our punter is a mixed bag. Player of the week one week and almost a sequel to the ShawSHANK movie the next. Due to injuries we've had to use 3 tickets. Not sure how that happens but we are 3 kickers in for field goals. Our kickoff guy is now are field goal guy. On kickoff kicking 65 yards isn't a problem. Kicking 35 with accuracy while being rushed has proved problematic.
10 years ago this game would have ended 3-3 tie due to darkness, or had to have been moved to the Spoofhounds field since they have lights. Instead Pitt wins 5-3 after a snap at the Pitt State 40 sails over Ruhnkes head and is kicked picked up fumbled picked up backwards pass, lateraled twice and finally an o lineman is tackled in the end zone for a safety.
