Where should I take the family to eat after the game?
Since Harding is a dry campus, you should go to Drop the H pizza and brewery.
The Pitt has good food and drinks,
I guess there is fried chicken, if that’s your thing…
I’m not sure if you Arkies are fancy enough for Chatter’s or Brick + Mortar.
On your way back, there is a place in Carl Junction called Famos Italian Grill and Smoke house. Great food and and portion sizes for very fair prices.
So hard to say, that conference has some real inept football being played. Only 4 teams with a winning record?
But of the four GAC teams with winning records, they work really hard year round at defending the Flexbone which gets us prepared for the teams that have just a week to prepare. That said, it comes down to personnel. Everybody plays gap control/assignment football against the Bone. It’s when you start trying to get fancy and jump the QB or roll the DBs up too fast that you get burned.
I’m driving from Dallas through Tulsa and Joplin. Whete are some good places to stop to eat on the way? Any good Kansas City style BBQ rib places?
Smokey racks in Pittsburg is OK. I tend to make my own, so haven't tried any in Joplin for a long time, but boomers in carthage is decent, and I think Joplin has one too..
I have had the burnt ends at Blackstone Gastropub, and they stack up to the stuff you get in kc.
Looking forward to this matchup. I’ll be interested seeing our play against an MIAA caliber D Line. I haven’t watched film so I can’t really comment on strengths and weaknesses for Pitt. All I will say is, talk to who you want watch as much film as you want nothing prepares you in a week for the flex bone if you haven’t worked on it all year. Not to say game time adjustments and great players won’t even the playing field and make it tight I’m just speaking purely on the shock factor at the start of the game and the wear and tear factor that hits about mid 3rd quarter. Excited to see our boys in a hostile environment that the People at Pitt bring week in and week out (honestly huge props on that and I’ve always questioned how yall have drawn such a community of support). Pitt State was always a bucket list stadium to play in during my days, unfortunately my experience will have to be fully through the TV screen.
Harding??? Have your DC Nutt call HC/Defensive Coordinator Rich Wright. Don't recall rooting for PITT in many games, but Harding is on my UGLY list. GO PITT, baby!!!
Where should I take the family to eat after the game?
My go to place is still Jim's Steakhouse.
One of the few places left to get a good steak!
I recommend the steak tips with mushrooms and onions with a loaded baked potato and onion rings for an appetizer!
The Bruise Bracket. Heck of a first round match up. Also looks like both teams have 12 passing touchdowns (GV is showing 11). Bet it's been a while since Harding came in to a post season game with the same number of passing TDs as their opponent.
Harding has scored lots of TDs this year, where Pitt hasn’t scored very many at all. It makes sense when you consider the proportion of passing TDs to your total. lol.
