The last time Missouri State hosted a MIAA team they got beat by Washburn. I seriously doubt that Mo State will schedule the Mules or anybody in the top half of the MIAA.

Not just that, but they'll be FBS starting next year. Playing a D2 game wouldn't count towards potential bowl eligibility, so there's zero upside for them to schedule an MIAA team

Not sure there's any rule against it but it's uncommon. UTEP played Valdosta in 1995 and only won, 34-24 (Hal Mumme was the Blazers coach). Just doesn't make a lot of sense on either side.

Crazy thought, but could Northwest schedule Truman and bring back the Hickory Stick? As far as I know, both of them have an opening Week 2, unless Truman has something lined up that I'm not privy to. Or is there bad blood there?

Would be a good game for NW to schedule. TSU will have a winning record, and NW should win.

Truman State will steamroll them? Northwest Missouri and Colorado Mines are still good but not near the level they once were. Washburn almost beat Mines last year.

Not sure what Kingsville will bring to the table this year but they struggled to get over 20 points against average to good teams last year. Their QB play was mediocre but they did have a pretty decent defense. It was disappointing that they chose to play Lincoln, CA for the first game and not more of a challenge to get ready for this one. If NW has a pretty good offense that gets ahead early that may be enough.
