It appears 14 total victories were vacated as a result of sanctions.

2021 - 5 wins vacated, changing the final record to 5-3
2022 - 8 wins vacated, changing the final record to 0-3
2023 - 1 win vacated, changing the final record to 2-8

So, teams can pay for a recruits official visit, but they just return home, or it’s breaking a rule? It’s stuff like this that makes the NCAA appear as a joke. What seems like a minor misunderstanding turned into punishment for two schools and a athletes who probably had no idea.

I'm pretty sure the athletes had no clue and now players, coaches, fans, etc. are paying for something they didn't do.

Bad analogy, but if they find bodies in my basement after i move, does the current resident go to jail? Not "asking for a friend," btw.

It might make more sense if it was Josh Lynn and coaches who committed the violations, that his current team would be punished. Not Held and Co. who had nothing to do with it. That's tough on West Texas A&M, but his actions should follow him wherever he goes.

Wild stuff. Sounds like they payed for the players to come to campus to workout in the summer and called it an Official Visit!

Stupid. I kinda thought if We can pay athletes 50 million dollars there’s no need for violations. I’m confused

As petty as it is, it should have been easily avoided by the coach and compliance. That's why WT self reported it.

No they paid their way to fall camp in August. Not an official visit because they didn't fill out the normal paper work plus, you know, its the summer & right before camp starts. Not a lot of visits going on then.

Why do the two assistant get to rename nameless? Our are they all nameless and its just a no brainer who the head coach is so everyone figured it out?
