Difference being, there ain't a better option.

CWU and WOU both have to do 4 or 5 conference air trips each season in the LSC. LSC teams have to take, at most one or maybe two in an off year followef by zero. RMAC would be similar for CWU or WOU, with the occasional 12+ hour bus trip.

A lot of you think it is so easy.

Seems logical that CWU and WOU would help make them whole.
We are making them whole, by joining a conference that needs them for the time being in football.

Someone brought up a really crazy idea that they could become affiliates of the GSC conference since they now only have 4 schools.

Crazy for travel but at least they would be eligible for automatic playoff bids again.

So strange that the two football strongholds in this country -- the deep south and Texas -- scramble to put together full D2 leagues. That said, I'm glad the LSC is adding teams. Like the LSC, the GSC has some great football teams. I think the GSC membership might be a league too far. However, right now it would be two trips to the South. The brand of football, like the LSC, is fun to watch. Just don't think the geography will work. I'll miss the LSC, those teams were awesome to watch in Monmouth.

The other LSC teams take one trip to the northwest each season. While it has a cost, it isn't the tremendous cost CWU and WOU have with their 4+ trips each season.

I would rather WT add tennis before beach volleyball.

That would be entertaining watching march matches being played in 80 mph winds and occasional snow storms.

                    I get the apprehension.

It wasnt too long ago that the LSC football conference was in ICU and we were discussing if the RMAC would take WT in the event of a collapse.

Yeah, didn't think you were being bombastic or outrageous. Seems like anytime we try to explain our dilemma in the Northwest and what we have to do to continue to play division 2 football, we're said to be too sensitive. The Texans would feel the same way if they were getting kicked around.

You guys have an uphill battle and wish you the best. I still cant believe you are in this position. Honestly; Humboldt state, Western Washington, Simon Fraser, APU (although they were an oulier) could have all still made it work. Then grabbing Menlo and with Simpson starting football there is your 8 team conference. Just a terrible situation out there and I hope you can survive.

Thanks, it's crazy out here in the West. D2 and FCS football isn't a money maker. Presidents don't understand that. But it's still a great thing to have it on campus. WOU drew well this year, it's our largest event, actually each game is, that is outside of graduation. Our men's and women's hoops teams don't draw. Football does, even in an average season, and this year they were very good so people showed up in droves. I'm hoping our administration understands that.

Humboldt was averaging 7K-8K at the gate, had a great feature on the program and atmosphere in the NY Times. Then the east coast president cut football, retired, and left town. Clown show.

Kind of an odd move but Central Oklahoma is playing at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth on 8/27.

To you guys in the know of such things, when would these folks have to apply for LSC membership in order to be able to participate in 2027?

I believe Finchwidget said on the MIAA board that the deadline to apply for LSC 2007 membership was February 1st and they missed it.
