NSIC does appear pretty wide open this season. Should be entertaining, but it really doesn’t look like there is a serious National Championship contender among this year’s teams.
I have not heard anything about Larson, a win is a win, but Bulldogs fans are scratching their heads. No teams are a pushover that is for sure.

Final: Wayne State 38, Winona State 21

Wayne's first win over the Warriors since 2014 and just the fifth ever in series history

Saddler tosses an int on game winning drive. looks like cougars will win. Cougars could not run, but Mullen grows up this game and made amazing throws. Saddler kept throwing high and it caught up on him.

Along with a handful of throws into the turf 3 feet in front of the receiver.

And THAT'S the USF team I wanted to see today.

Augie is a super talented team. Glad we don't have to play them again this year.

Well, huh. Like everyone, I did not expect that.

Live by the Saddler, die by the Saddler.

If this Coo team would come to play every week I’d feel much better about the season.

                Well done Coo. Well done.

Saddler lost game for Vikings. When he is off, he is off and should have been replaced earlier. Also AU punter bobbles a good snap a give USF ball on Viks 10.

If you have read USF had only 5 yards rushing, you would have expected a Coo loss. USF 251 passing. Mullen will be a great one.

                      Mary 49
                      Northern 42

                      Mary wanted for bank robbery.

UMD pulls one out at the finish. Northern gets shocked by Mary. Southwest wins two straight road games. Wayne is for real. USF tops Augie. This season is crazy.

Today went pretty much as my worst case fear for Northern. The Mary offense is really good. From QB to WR to OL and even RB. 42 points in a half is a pretty embarrassing performance for a defense. The Wolves D has been living by the turnover all season. They also haven’t played many QBs that can make them pay for leaving open receivers. Today Mary took advantage. And the speed and size that I’ve been amazed by all year just didn’t seem the same. Mary skill guys were able to run away from LB and DBs all day. I was probably more surprised and dismayed at how well Mary ran the ball when they needed to.

The offense was ok, but struggled in the first quarter and stalled at the end when they had a chance to tie it up. This was a win NSU needs to have if they want to reach the expectations that have been set. The road only gets more difficult from here so we will see how the Wolves respond now.

I know I’m biased but I think the Dragons got screwed on that last TD call, the replay angles look like he was out of bounds. You can’t let it get down to that play but sucks to see the stripes take the game into their own hands.

Everything is setting up well for MSU Mavs, tough home games left include USF, AU and WSC, road game to to WSU.

Even better for UMD Dogs, NSU, BSU and AU at home. Mary on the road.
