Re: PSAC WEST
Why did he leave?
SRU is good but viewed as the Island of Misfit Toys.

There are a lot of flashy imports on rosters but none of them -- historically -- will be given any preseason accolades. I'd propose Malik Miller (IUP) and Drew Magestro (UPJ). That said, I could see the final two being Dante Lombardi (IUP) and Trevor Blondin (Seton Hill).
The flip side is that he would've been the top dog at Augie this year and, based on what everyone says about Micah Till, probably won't be the top dog at SRU, so it's possible he'll just be an above-average role player for the Slippery Eels (still haven't googled the SRU mascot).
All that being said, I highly doubt he would be preseason all-conference for the PSAC, as none of the coaches in that area are probably particularly familiar with him or his skill level. I'll be curious to see how he does or doesn't fit in to an entirely different conference/region.Last edited by MrAugustana; 10-04-2018, 10:03 PM.

That said Rock teams typically don't get good until mid-January.
Those two transfers along with Micah Till could be scary -- along with those two bigs.

Re: PSAC WEST
From the Central Portion of the board...
Poster, Augieholic, says this about SRU's two Augustana Transfers...
"John Warren is one of the best wing defenders in all of Division 2, he can absolutely swallow people alive when hes locked in and his wingspan creates steals for himself and those around him. Offensively he has a dreamy shot that can take over a game and the ability to rise up and finish like few in the NSIC as USF's Drew Geubert learned during his baptism at the hoop last winter. Having given you the hard sell on my John Warren Island holdings I'm obligated to disclose that consistency is a concern. Game to game and posession to possession you never quite knew what John would show up.
Augie may not have won the National Title without his steal to seal the Regional Championship and I'll truly miss watching him be an alpha on this year's Augie team.
Former Viking Nolen Gerald is joining John at The Rock, hes a solid athlete who is capable of producing jumpshots that can harm anyone in the vicinity of the hoop."

Re: PSAC WEST
I think the 6'11" center at SRU has just been undecided on a major at the previous three schools and finally found the major he was looking for at SRU.

Lot of hired guns from all over the place. Aaron McDonald did not return. There are some big boys on that roster.
SRU gets John Warren, transfer from Augustana University (D2) in SD.... Didn't see him on 17-18 roster for Augustana, but was on 16-17 roster as a sophomore...and now he's a senior...Hmmm...And sru bio says he played 3 years..
I like Amante Britt-a good get from Woodland Hills...Finally a Freshman who will be there for more than 1 year, presumably..He was really good in HS.

'Rehabilitated' is the phrase they prefer at SRU. Their schedule is also apparently top secret, too.
