Apparently, he goes by Harry. He looks pretty athletic for his size. Do you think he is a project or is he ready to step right in and compete in the PSAC? Also, does he have 4 years of eligibility? I don't see that he's been enrolled in any U.S. college.

[QUOTE=bballfan03;n888959]GU blitzing social media with BIG ANNOUNCEMENT tomorrow at 2pm about the future of Gannon Athletics. Speculation is announcement of new AD or moving to D1 lol of those 2, I'm going with the former. Also could be addition of a new program [/QUOTE
A move to Division One? One can only hope that is not the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. As a Gannon alum, that would effectively kill a lot of interest I have in the University's sports programs.

There is certainly a rumor floating that Gannon is moving up.
Rumors aren't always true.
The Battle of Erie could resume.

Curious about why a move to D1 would kill your interest in Gannon's sports programs?

Personally, I would rather compete at a level where I have a chance to play for a National Championship or at least get close to that goal. Look at IUP and WLU a couple of years ago and the excitement that brought to the region. Take basketball as an example, Gannon wins some D-1 league and gets the 64th seed in the NCAA's and plays say, Duke or Connecticut, we all know the result. I guess that I would rather be a big fish in a small pond than the alternative. Further, i would miss the local rivalries available thru the PSAC along with the on-line banter (lol) that goes with those interactions..........I guess that I believe it's just the right fit for Gannon given resources available.
There's a uniqueness to Division 2 athletics, or small college athletics in general, where there is a greater emphasis on regional geographic alignment, and more of a parochial approach to the presence of athletics as a whole. Not that the towns or communities, or student bodies for that matter, necessarily care or align with the football or basketball teams, but there's more of a "community" that exists within the entire setting. At any Division 1 institution (at least large ones), there is no community. Just fans.
Since going to IUP, my interest and love for our level came from it being "different" than everything else. It wasn't "the business" that you see a level above. Individuals played sports because they wanted to do so. It wasn't a business decision to attend Slippery Rock over IUP and run track, they just maybe liked the campus a little bit more. Or maybe it was 20 minutes from home instead of 45. You see my point. You lose that once "the business" takes over.
D2 sports used to be our thing, and our little bubble and community. Unfortunately, as college athletics rapidly and radically changes by the day, we lose that little bubble. We're just part of the larger machine now.
