      Re: Performance Indicators 2016-17

Atlantic Region watch ... I'd say as of 'today':

      1 Fairmont State
      2 Shippensburg
3 WL Last night was huge
      4/5 IUP & WJ
      6 Kutztown
      7 Gannon/ESU/ND
      8 VU
BUBBLE Glenville Has to play MEC Big 3 again ...
BUBBLE Shepherd Has to play MEC Big 3 again ...
      BUBBLE UPJ
This is obviously assuming nothing crazy (Cinderella) happens in the conference tournaments.

        Re: Performance Indicators 2016-17

What about kutztown? I have only one spot open. Your top 5 plus kutztown and Ciaa tournament winner. most likely notre dame if they win one against the big three or East stroudsburg if they can beat ship or kutztown. Esu beat Gannon at Gannon so they would have a big edge if it ever came down to those two.

                Re: Performance Indicators 2016-17

So Shippensburg gets smacked by 17 points at No. 223 Millersville but still moves up one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 and closes the P.I. gap between itself and an unbeaten Fairmont State team which beat up on a couple of No. 200+ bottom-feeders by a total of 65 points?

                Hmmmm....

That is funny when you spell it out like that ...

The good thing about basketball is it will all get settled on the court by the time it matters.

Ship's loss was the big PSAC upset. The MEC is due to have one. I like Shepherd to get it this week ... just not sure if it will be against WL or WJ.

IUP could also be susceptible to an upset alert this week. Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock always battle them hard. It also wouldn't surprise me if Kutztown knocks off Shippensburg tomorrow.

This is a tremendous week of basketball in the PSAC and MEC.

This is a tremendous week of basketball in the PSAC and MEC.
Shepherd tonight v. WLU is a HUGE trap game for the Toppers! EASY to overlook the Rams with Fairmont coming to town Saturday. THAT game is the big magilla in the Atlantic thus far and will give the victor the inside track to hosting regionals! It's HUGGGGEEEE!!

Don't think there's any way the Hilltoppers overlook Shepherd after having to come from behind in the last 3 minutes to pull out a 67-64 win at home back in November. We're playing better now than we were then but so is Shepherd and they're notorious for being much better at home than they are on the road. Fairmont barely got out of there with a 5-point win a couple of weeks ago. Speaking of Fairmont, they can't afford to relax against a Whg. Jesuit team that let one get away from them in Charleston Saturday night. Going to be an interesting week in the MEC.

Hope you're right. It would be nice to have a comfortable 15 point W were everyone performed up to expectations...kind of smooth things out before the next game. We'll see...

There were probably other factors involved with Ship moving up. I'd venture to guess that they had several past opponents improve their records to cross one of the 25/50/75% thresholds, gaining 3 pts for those games to factor into their average.

                            Kutztown beat Ship tonight, 81-75.

Thanks. Nothing against Ship and your explanation makes perfect sense. Just seemed odd at first glance.

Looks like Ship is fixing the PI glitch. We'll see if they move up this week.
