      Just crazy! A team beats the #1 team in the nation and it moves DOWN while the team that lost stays #1 and the #3 team moves up to #2 on the strength of a victory over the #155 team!

        Not really. WLU did not move "down" in PI. Its PI actually went up with the win over Fairmont. Additionally you have to keep in mind that the last game is just another datum. The PI is continually effected by the performance of all the teams it has played. for an explanation of why Shippensburg has a higher PI, you need only look at the OW% column. In any case, if the records remain the same, I would bet a large amount of money that the regional committee ranks WLU ahead of Shippensburg.

          Ship had an embarrassing loss to a bad team. It will haunt them. WL and Fairmont control their own destiny. Win out and host. It's that simple as of today.

          Granted ... lots of basketball yet to be played.

            I think there's a chance that IUP could host the Atlantic, to be honest. It's possible, not probable, but follow me...

            ...Let's say WL loses to WJ regular season and doesn't win the MEC tourney.
            Let's say Fairmont doesn't win the MEC Tourney.
            Let's say IUP wins PSAC tourney. Who would host? That's tough, bc Fairmont beat IUP, but IUP finished stronger...

              Step further .. WL loses to WJ but wins MEC Tourney. Then you have all three with 2 losses and two are conf tournament champs.

              Too early. Too many 'what ifs' at this point.

              I'd also add IUP is FAR from a lock to win the PSAC Tournament. In the mix but no lock.

              Personally, I'd still pick Fairmont at this point. Neutral court they'll be a tough out. That loss was probably the best thing that could have happened to them long-term .. similar to when WJ beat up WL last year.

                        You would think so. Both have only three losses to Atlantic region teams. Also, the NCAA likes teams that are on winning streaks which both have been on. That's why I would be shocked if iup is not number 2 when rankings come out. 14 game win streak is worthy of a two ranking. You really can't make a case right now for anyone else making the top 8.

                          Baring unexpected losses by one (or both), first round exits or an outlier winning the MEC or PSAC tourney, they have the inside track seeing as their closest competition currently sits with 7 losses.

                              This is pretty close to the actual regional rankings. Not so sure I'd put West Lib ahead of IUP at #3, but that almost seems like a coin flip. The rankings also had East Stroudsburg at #10 instead of Gannon. If nothing else, this is a pretty good projection tool, but it's pretty awesome to see all the work that goes into this.

                                For Wl vs IUP, check out the "ranked wins" and I think that makes the tiebreaker pretty obvious. 5-1 for WL but only 1-2 for IUP
